#14 Spleen Cleeva – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#14 Spleen Cleeva – Smashed Collar Bone (-ST)
SWL Season XIV - Premier League - Round 4

Well, quite a match. Some stunning performances - Bone Krasha especially with a miracle touchdown in the dying seconds of the match, and Throat Rippa, who scraped in with an equalising touchdown in the first half.
__________________________

Anyway, here's how it all went down. Sneaky Ork "won" the coin toss (rumour has it that she may have rigged it, we shall never know), and we elected to receive first. With a solid orc line in the way, and not looking like it was going to break, things looked bad for the girls, and when Face Masha was tripped up by a Troll of all things, the Raiders we able to close in. It was a hard hitting defence that also saw several of the girls leave the field, and after some time, Dronx Blackhide managed to force a turnover near the middle of the field. Roarak Brokentoof wasted no time taking the ball in for a touchdown (pausing only to lie on the ground for a moment to catch his breath).

With 2 turns left in the half, we realised that there might be time enough for a touchdown which would actually leave us with a chance in the second half (especially if our damned shaman would show up).. A quick snap caught the boys off guard, and we flooded one side of the field as best we could, but it was only when Skrag Redfang "tripped over" the prone body of Head Stompa that we found a real gap. There were oohs and aahs from the crowd when Throat Rippa nearly let the ball slip out of her hands, but she held on to it, and ran hard into the end zone.

At half time, our shaman finally arrived, but proceeded to head immediately for the ale-stands, and I pretty much gave up on him bothering to come back to the match. At this point, the Raiders did what they do best, and started grinding down. Holding the ball well out of the way, the rest of their team did their best to remove as many of the lady orcs from the field as they could. Heart Kleeva didn't like the look of things one bit, and proceeded to do the same ... well, she removed Dronx Blackhide at least, which was fortunate -he had proved to be quite a nuicance in the first half. Mostly though, the girls tried to keep the pressure on, and in turn 3 or 4, Face Masha managed to make her way well into the Raider's backfield. Kar Gougedeye realised that the only way he was going to avoid her was to get rid of the ball, and that he did... however it proved too hard to catch for Roarak Brokentoof, and the girls quickly recovered the ball. Pressing up one side of the field, but moving too slowly, and the pressure built up. Our shaman popped in a somewhat ineffective lightning bolt, but it was just enough to get the ball to the real star of the match, Bone Krasha. It was a desperate play, but Bone Krasha really got to show what she's made of, staying on her feet even when surrounded by orcs, and then dodging through multiple tacklesones to get through to the end zone.

------------------- Twahnlow Votes -------------------
3 pts - #2 Dronx Blackhide
Although he didn't stay around for the second half, Dronx already did everything you could ask of a Black Orc in the first. His combination of skills saw him put plenty of pressure on the ball carrier, resulting in a turnover, and the Raiders scoring a touchdown.

2 pts - #6 Brack Gutrot
Brack just kept on bashing away. Just what you want from that sort of fellow. He did only manage to get one casualty, but also made several timely stuns / KOs which really helped - especially in the first half.

1 pt - #8 Roarak Brokentoof
As well as scoring the touchdown in the first half, Roarak came awfully close again in the second half when he blitzed the ball carrier. Of course, if If it wasn't for the dropped ball, he wouldn't have needed to recover it, and may have been able to win the game for the Raiders.
