“TR Difference due mainly to 610K cash in the Juggernauts super annuation fund.
----------------
The Juggernauts started in defence, and almost conceded a turnover after a number of backfield errors, including failing to pick up the ball, and failing to catch a hand off.
The Agents were all over the Juggernaut backfield and setting themselves up to score but the super agile Skeletor (AG6 Blitzer) fell over with the ball! (Very unlucky for my opponent, but I had a heap of bad luck to let him get to the ball in the first place).
The Juggernauts were able to recover and despite some awful blocking (all rerolls used up quickly on double skulls and failed GFIs) scored late in the first half.
In the second half, the Juggernauts defence did not put enough pressure on the ball carrier in the Agents backfield, instead concentrating on those in their half. Eventually, a couple of Hobgoblins started to harry the Agents quarterback and he threw a long pass TD about two thirds of the way into the final period.
The Juggernauts lined up in offence, and after pushing deep, looked set for a win as the ball carrier was in a cage close to the end zone.
However, an improbable series of plays by the Agents allowed them to salvage a draw. Skeletor leaped into the cage and managed to knock the Hellbringers ball carrier over (2 dice my choice and he got two pows, a 1 in 9 chance!), the ball then scattered out of the cage, and another Agent player made it to the ball and picked it up despite the attention of a nearby Bull Centaur and throw it way down the Juggernauts half.
This left the Juggernauts with an improbable long bomb play to even consider setting up a TD in the final seconds of the match. The Long Bomb pass was accurate, but the Chaos Dwarf underneath failed to catch the ball (4+ with reroll) and thus could not hand off to the Bull Centaur further down the pitch who had to make some unlikely dodges to score.
-----------
A very close match. My opponent was very very lucky to get the double pow inside the cage. If one of the dice was not a Pow, it would have been a pretty certain score for me as I had the Troll, Str 5 Multiblock Bull Centaur, and the AG3 Bull Centaur plus a couple of CDs in the area.
To compound his unlikely block, the ball also scattered nicely to the far end of the cage. If it fell to the bottom, he would have struggled to get the ball. To pick up the ball, dodge and then throw a Long Pass? with a TZ on him and not fumble (Fumble on a 1-3) was also quite lucky hehehe.
Despite the favourable dice rolls near the end, full credit to my opponent who played pretty well and at least he had the balls to try the play, and it paid off. He could have just run away and save his AG6 player from getting hit by some angry CDs on turn 8 but he went for it and sometimes those unlikely plays come off hehehe.
However, I got +1 FF for the draw and my new CD has guard so all up I am happy with the result hehehe. ”
