“The Jungle Slash took to the pitch to play some serious Blood Bowl today, as they not only laid waste to their opponents, they actually out-scored them too! In an amazing effort on their part, they earned a whooping 22 points towards the Blitz Invitational, 90k and a new skill for Anastasia, the only Catcher.

In the first half, Patricia, the only thrower, collected the ball and ran upfield where the girls quickly made a cage around her. Anastasia ran into the mid-pitch area, clear of opponents, and got herself open to recieve a pass. but the Woodies surrounded the Slash and stunned Anastasia. But the Woodies left themselves in all the tackle zones, and the Slash knocked many of them down, but didn't advance the cage. Thus, the elves pressed in on the girls harder, which led to the cage being broken and patricia was right next to the Tackling Wardancer, Tonanas!

The next turn, Anastasia failed a simple dodge and ended up killing herself! The apothecary saved her, but with the turnover, the loss of the apothecary, and a Tackling Wardancer about to block the ballcarrier, things were looking very grim.

However, Patricia was standing after three blocks, one from Tonanas and one a double dice block. However, that same turn, Sally's hand was smashed by Lorathan and the apothecary was used, so she would have to sit this game and the next out and suffer from the pain forever... Also, Anemian got in position to pick off the ball which would come in a few turns...

However, things were looking up when Celia killed Nimunium, the kicking linelf. Then, the Slash got in great position, clear of enemies who could blitz the next turn, but still way back in their own backfield. They had to get the ball up somehow...

That's when the Wood Elves' turn ended abruptly as Kedian was forced to be brought down with Tammy, who badly hurt him. kayla cleared the path with a bkitz that KOed an important linelf and a side wall was set up for Patricia. But Lorathan, who was subsequently crowdpushed on the next turn, was able to leap into the cage and crowdpush Patricia on a 2 dice block against. The ball scattered into the backfield, just behind the mid-pitch brawl, and with Celia smashing the knee of Thon'dil, the area was cleared and the Slash got to it first. However, Tammy threw it right to Anemian who was guarding Anastasia.

There was a scramble and the elves got unlucky as Anemian fumbled a sure touchdown pass, which enabled the now unguarded Anastasia to catch a ball thrown from Kirsten in the glaring sun. She then walked it in. So after being stunned, killed and knocked down a lot, left alone to take hits, and generally ignored by coach Oblitzamanger, she finally got her reward.

A Blitz! kickoff result enabled the Slash to stop the touchdown effort of the Wood Elves in it's tracks. Luckily for both teams, the casualty box wouldn't recieve any more players. Halftime score: 1 - 0.

The Wood Elves surprised by forming a very loose cage around Lorathan which was broken, but ane extremely well placed block cleared Lorathan of the two tackle zones on him and he scored with a gfi in two easy turns.

But this left the Slash 7 turns to score back. With only 7 elves to prevent it, it was going to be hard for either team to accomplish their goal. Lindsay ran up the field unopposed and when Patricia fumbled tha ball, all looked lost, but the elves made a very silly play and miss threw the ball the very next turn in the blinding sun. Thus, Rachael handed off to Kayla who passed to Lindsay who then scored. 2 - 1.

Could they hold on? Bad positioning and a turnover coupled with a bad choice for the touchback basically ended all hopes for the Elves scoring back by their 7th turn. After a huge brawl, the numerous Amazons came out on top and Anastasia got the ball again and was able to acore on the last turn for the win: 3 - 1.

We got a statement from coach Oblitzamanger after the game. he said, "We got lucky as ever. Nuffle favored us today, and we took advantage of it. I want to thank coach edkravetz for his sportsmanship and general personality during the game. He got dice-raped and he was a good sport about it.

"The team knew how to score today, tripling their total touchdowns. Anastasia learned a new skill which has yet to be decided, and the team got a whole lot of money and fan factor increase. They only took one permament injury but there is enough money to replace Sally. I was going to abandon this team and just go hunt for a new one to compete in my Blitz Invitational, but after this win (22 points!!!) they definately can keep their place. I was proud of them today and hope they can continue to perform in the future."

So that's all folks. They are now just 2 games away from the Blitz Invitational first round Championships. This win takes them to 35 points.”
