TWAHNLOW VOTES

3 Votes - #12 Karesh Var
Karesh was always in the hunt for the ball in this fortuneless match for the elves. Gratuitous elven ball handling aside, he was the main ball handler for the Echoes and in pretty much every key contest.

2 Votes - #6 Anwar
Superhuman dodging skills from Anwar made the best of the Woody's minimal chances here. His ability to skip straight through a whole team of opponents was simply awe inspiring at times! Had the most convincing attempt at a score also. Top show!

1 Vote - #9 Veris
Always in the play and trying his best to make some kind of impact. Not sure if he achieved much here, but I do recall his perpetual presence, so he must have been doing something right! ;)

Well what a shellacking. Really underperformed in this one. Went in with a roster of 11, with 2 MNG'ers. Our Captain Talaban, he the stripballing Dancer niggled out (can I say again how much I hate aging). Karesh Var made captain in honour of his impending induction to the Hall of Fame, which he achieved thanks to 5 completions in this game. The Duke badly hurt our new thrower, with the second block of the game.. Caprishan may well have never existed.. hey if I only look up.. he didnt exist.. shoulda saved my money. Have gotten over the disappointment of not playing VolCom, starting to think it was maybe a blessing in disguise. So thanks to Clays, and my own brutalising of this team, this was probably the one we had to lose. Thought we were a chance of limping into Premier, but we so werent ready after Clay, so I can only really thank Twahn for completely outplaying me. It will help the teams growth down the line I would think, and there were no injuries so we are in better shape for next game.

As stated game started with another player off early.. we were down to 7. Jake Fluttery dropped a catch, and we were given a small opening. Suryet failed her dodge before Karesh Var could leap on in and retrieve the ball. Lookin like one of those games. Duke roams around stunning my players, Cation Knocked out. Rainbow Jay fails the pickup. Touchstone peels away from his markers and heads into the Carlton half.. Var runs in scoops up the ball and passes off to him. Everyone else just about face down except Ra-Hel. The Duke calmly put Touchstone down. Bob Gibolobo is able to pick up and pass to rookie catcher Kelly Karret. Surrounding him with Guard blitzers. Suryet again fails dodges trying to position her own Guard, 3 turns and all rerolls gone. Kelly cant believe his luck and bursts upfield. Mack Stamage fouling the only close "Echoes" player Veris. We spend a few turns rushing back.. while Kelly stalls. The Duke double skulling with reroll against Touchstone. I dont think he was ever even stunned in this game. Enough of us scramble back.. forcing Kelly to run in earlier than intended. Not enough "Echoes" line up to really make an incision, Var passes to Touchstone, who rookie error forgets to drop back and handoff back to Var before Veris Doubleskulls, and oh my arent we vulnerable. Paul 'Cleave' Pacman puts the stupid catcher down.. of course, and United ring the ball. Ra-Hel fractures Mack's leg, the Apothecary called out for the repair job. Cation free's ball up and moves open, Var fails to pickup the ball. Bob waltzes through and uses surehands to scoop the ball up and run in for the TD. No turns to do anything. Var scores 3rd completion, immortality but a throw away now, Suryet finally does something useful badly hurting Rainbow Jay. And in a moment of sheer stupidity, Touchstone decides we need to even the numbers up a little more if we are to have any chance, Getting himself sent off, and Questor Anu banned in the process too. Things going from bad to worse.
Halftime : Carlton 2 Echoes 0.

Get a touchback, and decide without enough players left on the field to blitz up field and hope for the best. Cation makes his blitz and scampers upfield just in time to recieve a perfect Hall of Fame spiral from Karesh Var. Most of this turn goes well, Anwar dodges through, but underestimates the Duke and instead of marking up on him, tries to offer support to Cation. The Duke is having none of this and using his brilliant speed and strength solo blitzes our wardancer, knocking him over, the ball spilling out of bounds and being kicked across field to where the rest of the Carlton team is ready to pounce. Eglander Braybrook fails to pickup, but drops the ball into the aptly named arms of "Handy" Andy. Veris fails dodges to assist a blitz which never happens. Carlton are away again, Andy handing off to Kelly who sprints clear, with not an "Echoes" player in site, he runs it in for Carltons 3rd TD. A perfect defense makes our next attempt apon the impregnable D of Carlton a little harder. Again we try the rush deep, hope for the best play, Var connecting with Anwar, who magnificently dodges his way clear. This time Veris too is able to dodge through, and this time we mark up on the Duke. Alas we werent counting on his famed Agility and extra speed, he effortlessly Dodges free and blitzes Anwar, failing to bring him down but stripping the ball from his grasp. Caspar Crustard defying logic, Going for it twice and picking up the ball in tackle zone. Kelly does us a favour and falls over. Veris dodges his two markers and rushes in to Guard assist Anwar, who Blitzes Caspar, the ball dropping back within grasp of the Duke, Anwar dodges to the ball, picks it up, and then... just to add further salt to the wound fails his dodge for the TD, even with a team reroll. aargh. Bob runs on in and picks up, passing to the Duke, who storms upfield. Manage to pull the Duke down, but it again falls into touch, where once again the pro-Carlton crowd give it a nudge in a very convenient location if your not an "Echoes" player. Mack Stamage picks up well, and handsoff to Eglander, who funnily enough needs a TD for his next roll. I was honoured with the great help I was able to provide Twahn in team development. Hopelessly try and pressure the ball carrier, but too many United boys make for a simple TD. This is getting embaressing... getting..bah.... IS embaressing. Setup for another completion for our last turn, and with reroll in hand watch as Var fails the pickup. Typical. Carlton United sportingly call early showers, and the game is over.
Final Score: Carlton United 4 Echoes of the Great Song 0

Very dissapointed with that one. Writing the report its getting less so. We were well behind from the get go. Clay's game saw to that. Karesh Var achieved the goal he set out to achieve in this game, entering the Hall of Fame, and while another completion would have helped, we havent given up hope of him holding off Tukko Rainnonen's challenge for Silver Twahnlow passing awards. We probably had to lose that one, and without any major injuries we are looking reasonable for our last game of the season.. niggles pending. It was a pleasure to be outclassed by Carlton United, and I'm pleased they will probably avoid relegation, because that cull would have hurt them bad I think. So long Clay.../me hopes.

Twahnlows:

3 Votes to #1 Duke Snakefield - Who else, this guy is an absolute superstar. While I think you can see all of Carlton contributed well, and it was a team effort, this guy was still the difference between the two teams, making all the key plays, was unstopable as a linebacker.

2 Votes to #7 Kelly Karrett - Promising young catcher, did everything asked of him, will become a vital cog to the team soon enough I imagine.

1 Vote to #6 Bob Gibolobo - Another up and comer, outshone his partner Rainbow Jay, and again looks to be one for the future.
