“After a string of eight losses in a row, Eleventeen was desperate to change their ways. Having found a newly formed lizardman team to play against, Eleventeen went in determined to win. An early turnover lead to a quick touchdown for Taylor Twellman.
On the ensuing kickoff, Eleventeen blitzed across the line, seeking to catch a skink alone in the backfield with the ball... However the kick was off target, and Saurus Skaag looked to be well on his way to scoring an easy touchdown. Twellman turned his attention to nearby prone opponents, and commited two fouls in succession, and was sent off. Skaag did indeed score, bringing us to 1-1. Not much of note happened for the remainder of the half.
The second half saw Eleventeen form a protective scrum around Samson the Slingshot, who waited with the ball until Glassjaw Gary could get open in the endzone. (Fingers Freddy had earlier slipped on yet another banana peel, and was face down the dugout. This, combined with a nearly niggling smashed knee, had left him out of the game.) Bait Sauri pounded mercilessly on the Eleventeen line, and Gary took a whooping himself from a pair of skinks and a saurus. The Eleventeen line cracked open just big enough a hole for Samson to escape and toss a pass downfield, where Gary had momentarily found an open spot in the endzone, but the pass was off target, landing just one pace away in the endzone. The skinks wasted little time flinging Gary into the crowd and turning upfield with the ball.
Vlad the skink brought the ball upfield, but was blitzed by Thrum, who promptly went for it, and go it on the chin when he found a pothole in the field. Vlad recovered the ball, but was blitzed again, this time by Bump. With just the Kroxigor Beast guarding the ball, Beast threw a 2 die block and... you guessed it, double skulls. This summed up Bait's luck on the day. Samson was able to complete a pass to Thrum to win the game, 2-1.
My apologies to my opponent if my fouling was too much. A tough match, well fought.
