“What a match.
The Elves received and drove down the right side of the pitch for a TD in turn 5.
They then put pressure on the receiving beasts and a failed catch was converted into a TD in turn 7, which in hinsight mayby should have been stalled instead.
Now the Industries got a chance to get back in and a long pass was caught and after some dodging and blocking brought to a reducing TD 2-1 at HT.
In the second half Oemme received again and drove the ball carefully forward. However a wizard removed most of the defence in turn 4 and eventhough the ensuing blitz didn´t sack the carrier, he failed the handoff in the next turn, and the elves got the ball.
However a great blitz involving 2 dodges, one into 2 TZ and a 1d resulted in the carrier being crowdpushed and the ball being thrown down towards the elves half. Even though they again were first to the ball they could do little as the throw to victory was intercepted and thus it ended 2-2.
In overtime both teams scored, Oemme in turn 3 again after a long throw and the Elves after faking a drive down the right and then sideshifting to the left where a assisted blitz and 2 GFI resulted in 3-3.
In the last few turns the Elves pushed hard to get the winner after sacking the only potential receiver there was, but some good cage play denied the chance.
In the end Oemmes Industries won on a coin toss, and Reiner Reinscläger was overall player of the match with his 3 cas and many ko´s which builded the basis for Oemmes play.
Thx for a great match Gandresch, I look forward to get my revenge ;)”
“It was a very interesting match. Both teams were lucky overall and it was none of those matches where one team is really a lot luckier than the other team. Besides the luck of great blocking results all the game, the Oemmes chaos team had the small piece of luck you need in certain situations to shock your oponent and to make the specs say "what a lucker". :-)
Things like 5+ dodge without rr, 1d block (crowd), good throw in and interception in the next turn are some things, that made the life of the elves more difficult. The fact, that Reiner sent one after another elf down the pitch (with about 5 KOs and 3 cas), the woodies were outnumbered most of the game.
I very enjoyed playing this game. It was interesting and both coaches could show their skills.
The fact, that Oemmes played for tie to win the cointoss was kind of adventuresome, but we all like this feeling, when you lay your teams fate into Nuffle's hands, don't we?
Thank you to topper for one great match! (ps: you'll get your revenge :-)”
