“1st game i've played with the 'flings in a few day, and boy did I coach a sloppy match.
1st half:
Elves receive with a stacked formation to their left so the 'flings kick it short to the other side. Elves pickup the ball and pass it to the catcher who runs up into a cage. My 'blitzer' fling peels away the corner and lets the strip baller blitz in and knock the ball loose. Elves knock away everyone marking the ball, catcher scoops, and run for the TD. 0-1.
'flings receive and form a cage. Elves pull apart the front before it can advance to the trees and a dump-off pass fails to clear the ball on the hit. Ball trades hand a time-or-two and eventually squirts outside the scrum. Catcher again scoops it up and runs for the TD. 0-2.
'flings try again - this time set up for the TTM. Quick snap and ball is caught near the goalline. Handoff to throwee is successful, tree picks him up, throws him, he lands cleanly and scores after a gfi. 1-2.
Elves receive on their turn 8 and set up a wall in front of the ball which is muffed by the thrower on the pickup attempt. 'flings look to TTM for an unlikely (many dodges needed) scoop and score but throwee is dropped. End of half.
2nd half:
'flings take the kickoff and cage behind the trees. After a move forward, a gap is left for their blitzer to get to the ballcarrier, but he is marked by a diving tackler. Blizter dodges anyways and makes his 2nd roll, pows the ballcarrier, and knocks him out. Elf lineman fails a dodge and the 'flings get be ball back behind a screen. Str 4 thrower ko's middle of screen and he and a catcher mark the ballcarrier. 'flings surround the markers and the ballcarrier 1in9's the dodge to drop the ball in the open field. Elf blitzer grabs the loose ball and tries to throw to an open lineman but a lone 'fling intercepts the pass! 'flings again get behind a screen and again the screen is broken up by their thrower. Leaves the 'flings with two scoring options: 8in9 dodge to a 8in9 handoff or a 8in9 dodge followed by two gfi's - coach fears the random number generators ability to string ones together and goes for the 1st option. Success. 2-2 with no chance for a one-turner for the elves.
Postgame:
40k in winnings allow us buy another 'fling and get back to 16 players. At least no FF drop!”
