#3 Butch – Dead (RIP)
The Graveyard Gnash took to the pitch again and faced an Ogre team for their last tune up game before the Blitz Invitational. But sadly, this game ended just about all hope of the team winning the tournament as the injuries picked up leave just too much ground to cover.

But, disregarding the Blitz Invitational for a moment, this game was good in a way for the team. Despite their Flesh Golem being killed, they earned a lot of money from the game, money which will eventually go into buying butch's replacement, hopefully after the next game. Also, Clawmide scored an astounding three touchdowns, and learned the block skill. And, They finally won a game, which gives them a .500 record. However, their TR/TS decreased, the opposite effect of what coach Oblitzamanger wanted.

The FatMonks were doomed from the start as one of their Ogres had to miss the game due to a niggling injury. Also, they used their only re-roll on a two dice block in the first turn.

The first half was crazy as heck. A goblin picked up the ball in the backfield and ran backwards like an elf team. Marcellus, a guarding Ogre, rushed forward with two goblins, but he was too close to the sidelines, and on their first turn, the Gnash pushed him into the crowd. The poor Ogre was so seriously injured that he had to miss the rest of that game, and his next.

From there, with most of the postitional players by that sideline, the FatMonks tried to switch the play. They threw their ballcarrier into the Gnash's backfield, but the Werewolves were too fast for them and Fenogle caught up with him and knocked him prone.

Spitebade then picked up the ball and passed to Clawmide. After the Ogres went down, Clawmide and Fenogle ran upfield only opposed by one goblin. But that goblin knocked the ball free from Clawmide's claws. The goblin was knocked out but Clawmide was able to get up the next turn and score a turn later, but not after Butch had been killed on a both down result by an Ogre. Halftime score: 1 - 0, but at a price...

The Ogres again used their only re-roll at the begginning of the second half as Gregolio, the team's only ghoul, picked up the ball and hung back in their half like an elf as well. The werewolves and wights ran amuk in the FatMonk's half, vying for an open position to recive the ball. Eventually, with a little adventure, Gregolio passed the ball, but miss threw it! However, the Gnash was easily able to recover and Clawmide scored again, dismissing the though of stalling. 2 - 0

But an angry fan hurled a rock at Fenogle, breaking his ribs, and making him miss the entire Blitz Invitational. Then after another turnover, the Gnash was able to run around the big Ogres on the front line as Clawmide picked up the ball. Unable to stop him, the Gnash scored their third touchdown as Clawmide got a hat trick for the game, an amazing performance. 3 - 0

The Gnash was able to stop any other Throw team mate plan for the last turn as Gregolio failed a pickup which may have led to Clawmide's fourth touchdown. Had he picked up the ball, Clawmide only would have had to catch the hand off and go for it once, but alas, it was not meant to be...

We got this statement from coach Oblitzamanger after the game. "I felt the team did very well today. I want to thank coach Gylgar for the game and wish him all the best luck. He is a great coach and a great guy, and I would love to play him again.

"I think this team is (obviously) not ready for the Blitz Invitational. They need a recovery game, but they have already played their five and now must play in the Invitational. Even scoring 15 points in the game they are still behind the fourth place team by 11. They will play in the crumbs match, and most likely lose to the Shadow Bite. But even if they won, they would then lose to the Greenfield Crush. Basically, without that Flesh Golem and werewolf, they have no chance as they will only be able to field 9 players."

He then ran off to the center of the pitch and made a sacrifice to Nuffle right the and there. The sacrifice included, um... Let's just say Butch's body went to good use...

We also got a statement from Clawmide, the star of the match. "I was ready for this game. I wantedto do good and I did because I knew I had to do really good before the big game."

Then he howled out of control and wandered off towards the sacrifice, eying the carcass hungrily... He earned 9 SPPs this game and is only 2 SPPs away from his second skill.

Well, there you have it folks. We'll be back to cover the Blitz Invitational when the Graveyard Gnash plays the Shadow Bite, in what is sure to be a wipe out game for the Vampires.
