“What to say...... a much harsher game than we expected. 3 SI were a tad nasty, and with a -AV to go with the niggle, Korgan has decided to retire. Jorgen will miss the next match also after suffering a concussion.
As far as the scoreline goes, we merited the draw, but only managed it with a little luck on the final turn. TMNC set themselves up for the score after just 4 turns, but decided to stall on the off chance that they could force an early score 2nd half and wrap it up 2-1 in the closing stages. They managed to keep us away from the ball, and knowing we had little answer we attempted to redress the number game after 2 Early injuries had us down to 9 players.
4 turns, 2 casualties, 1TD later and we were 1-0 down, equal on players, and mulling over our second half options. Our basic plan was this: set ourselves up to score, see what the numbers were like, and if we felt we could force over a second late on, then score early.
As the half went on it was clearly apparent that we couldn't give ourselves a large enough numbers advantage to protect the game if we scored early, so a draw seemed our best option. First of all we had to score, and second, do it late with no possibility of a comback.
Well we messed it up. Only a 4+, 3+, 2+ with a reroll allowed us to tie it up in the 8th, and although that's not terrible odds, i've seen many a move ruined that was easier on paper.
Dull game to look at maybe, but an interesting one to think about. Thanks for the game mate.
Player of the Game: Dorin scored with a pick up in a tackle zone, a dodge and a GFI.
