“Well, it was not my game. I wouldn't want to complain about luck (the %'s are right we had no disconnections), it happens sometimes. And Barash had much weaker team, so I think it was OK.
Just for the fun, I cite some of the most memorable actions of the game! ;o)
Stand Firm won the toss.
My witch, that bitch, fumbled 4 leap rolls (3+) in a row during the first 3 turns. That wouldn't help my defence too much and ate my RR's quite quickly.
I had a decent chance to try to knock down the st4 runner that carried the ball, but couldn't make a push with a two dice opponent choose block with RR.
At the start of the 2nd drive I still had almost all of my team and received the ball. So I had a decent chance to play 4-5 turns without too much risk and score. That would be 2-1 then and very few turns for the dwarves to equalize. But i have suffered a pitch invasion (with +2 FF on my side) and 6 of my players injured (2 was out, 4 was stunned).
After this my turn started and ended with a snake-eye roll, so most of the few players I still had remained in contact with the dwarves.
During the first tree turns the dwarves commited 3 fouls but never got ejected (I didn't foul back, so the later ones were 4+ rolls). On the other hand, my witch resisted the serious injury rolls except the last one which was commited by a professional. ;o)
Thankfully I had one good turn during the 2nd half and this let me to setup a position for the score. But I rolled a double skull during the actions which aimed to secure my ball carrier. That let my opponent to get a 2 dice block (after some gfi's) but he needed a POW. And the RR'ed result was a double skull. Still I needed a 2+ dodge with dodge but thanks God, I could make that one.
From 7 KO'd players I got back 2 with most of my stars failing their rolls. That let my opponent an easy TD altough I tried some desperate actions. During this I tried 2dice opponent choose blocks but usually didn't even make it so far. Failed 4+ dodges with dodge (75% chance) and the like. Usually I failed my first roll so I had few opportunity to play a whole turn with the help of a "could be used if something goes wrong" RR.
The crowning act of this game was commited by my less skilled thrower. He tried a dodge, failed and died in the process. :o)
Anyway it was a fun game with some exciting actions. And at least, we didn't loose this one.
I congratulate to Barash who (as I noted before) had a much less skilled team. Luck only helped to close this gap.”
“Playing the Legendairy Wicked Witches was quite an experiance. Being down 42 STR points the game was though and Stand Firm needed luck to get a good result here. And Luck they got!
Stand Firm won the toss, a classic dwarf TD drive followed and in turn 5 Stand Firm were leading 1-0.
The Wicked Witches scored a nice and fast TD for 1-1.
The 2nd half Stand firm got lucky since their fans decided to help their beloved team. A pitch invasion hit 6 Wicked Witches and KO'ed 2 players and stunned an other 4. Stand firm tried to control the remaining players and take out the most powerfull once (by fouling as well: I needed to do that to have a chance winning this game). The KO bench was soon full, but the Wicked Witches scored a wonderfull TD again (was not able to stop it due to a needed POW and I got dubble skull in return after the RR)
Only 3 out of 7 players came back from KO. the best players from the Wicked Witches remained KO. in 3 turns Stand firm was able to score 2-2 in turn 8. The unfortunate thrower Bloody tripped while running away from a dwarf and died doing that.
The best thing what happened to the Wicked Witches were the two TD's (scored easily) and their injury rolls (about a dosen KO'ed players only one SI done by the dwarfs). The rest was in favor of the dwarfs. Due to luck Stand Firm managed to draw this game.
Thanks for this good game Csonti, close one! Good luck with your remaining games for the Legends!”
