“After 2 prior wins each, The Skruffneks and Big Hearted Big Guys met in the Smack Elite Final.
It's a rare game when Orcs are out-strengthed, but when they lined up against the might of the Ogre team, that was clearly the case.
The Skruffneks received an early boost as one of the Ogres was unable to play as a prior injury caused concern, but any team fielding an Ogre with the agility of an Elf deserves to be feared.
The game was a close, with an air of tension in each turn, the only real shock from open play being when the Orc Shaman got a bit carried away with a fireball and injured one of his own players, much to the annoyance of the coach.
Once the Orcs took the lead however, a gritty defence made if difficult for the Ogres to break through, and in the end they managed to grind out a win. They may have even scored twice had Fungus not decided the end of the first half was the ideal time to collapse.
The only thing to take the edge off the victory however, was the demise of Knagrulk, who after a fine performance was killed in one of the last blocks of the game.
All in all though, a good game against a great player.”
