“Not the most auspicious start in the SWL for the Chargers. South Sydney Juniors were obviously fired up after their senior team's poor performance earlier in the weekend and it showed. Some tight defence stopped the Chargers from running in an early touchdown and nearly enabled Souths to get one themselves. The second half saw the Chargers almost redeem themselves by pinching the ball and heading for the endzone, however it was not to be. A good blitz followed by some lightning manuevers from the lizardmen quickly put the ball out of reach of the humans and they ran in the only touchdown of the game late in the half. Without enough time to score an equaliser the humans watched in shock as the crowd rewarded their lacklustre performance by cutting short Hot Mustard's career and also his life with a well aimed rock. Once the funeral preparations are over the Chargers will be spending plenty of time in training this week in an effort to bounce back for the next game.
