“This is one of those games that will go down in history as one of the great blood bowl games.
The orcs won the coin toss and chose to receive the ball and receive it they did. Turn one left 2 dwarven players in the KO box where they would remain for nearly the entire game. Turn 2 left Freck Fatbelly with a niggling injury and out for the game. The orcs star troll was too stupid to ever stand up in the 1st half, and none of the orcs even tried to help their comrade to his feet.
Now down 3 players the dwarves fought though tooth and nail. Mongo Grabbed the ball on Turn 4 after making the orcs front line look like the frail Empire. One of the toughest minotaurs in the league then began his run to the endzone. He managed to block all the orcs that came at him. With 2 squares to go and three orcs on him he dodged out but fell on his own face losing the ball. Fortunately for the dwarves, the orcs were unable to make a stable recovery and the half ended 0-0, but not before another dwarf was badly hurt along with an Orcish Blitzer.
The second half left the dwarves down 4 players, but an angry dwarf is never to be underestimated. In classic furious coaching, Coach Bellator told his dwarves to punch a hole through the orcs and show them what it means to be a breaker. The dwarves did exactly that, leaving Sully Steerborn in scoring position. Unfortunately, Mongo had too much adrenalin running through his system and just roared forgetting to grab the ball.
The orcs capitalized on the lack of numbers and swung around making a run for the ball. They didn't quite reach it, but had a great defense setup and it was looking bad for the dwarves. A well placed kick from Prahr left Troll player Bekymring badly hurt and our for the duration of the game.
The dwarves rushed the backfield, while Sully stayed in scoring position waiting for his moment should it arrive. Another turn of roaring for Mongo allowed the orcs to grab the ball, setup two players for defense around the ball carrier and within 2 squares of scoring the Orcs looked like they had this game wrapped up. Mongo, now seeing what was happening rushed back and was able to blitz the ball carrier knocking him over, grab the ball and begin his run to back down the field. The orcs were on him for the next 3 turns but to no avail, until a well placed block from Dumhed tripped up Mongo who dropped the ball on the sideline. Dumhed then went for the ball, but it slipped from his grasp and into the hands of the dwarven fans who promptly through the ball 2 squares in front of Sully who was still uncontested and now in scoring position. Seeing his chance he grabbed the ball and made his run winning the game for the dwarves on turn 8 of the 2nd half. The fans blew the top off the stadium as the Dwarves fought back outnumbered and outstrengthed.
Freck Fatbelly has retired and will now work alongside Coach Bellator. His cousin Freck Glumheart just got out of training camp and has filled his shoes and is the newest player on the Boomtown Breakers.
