“Game of luck, all the way. After his perfect defense just completely hoses my entire first drive, he steals the ball with lucky blocking then botches the pass forward. A very lucky turn for me followed, retaking the ball and passing forward for a score. Granted, only one roll was worse than a 3+, but the sheer number of them made the turn unlikely.
The cd's retaliated by steadily blasting apart ratty armor, bad luck for me. But a lucky 2d-against block by me on his ball-bull stopped his score before halftime. (I had block/stripball, he had nothing, so all I really needed was no skulls, which isn't that unlikely, but it was nice to not see skulls for once...)
Second half commences and the cd's are driving against an undermanned skaven team (my ko rolls stunk this match), but my DP quickly made things much more even, getting a cas in each of his first 3 fouls and a ko on his 4th. The cd's decided enough was enough and scored, leaving me two turns to equalize. Get players downfield, he positions around the players, pass the ball complete in tz (3+ gutter), need only 2+ w/dodge rr...double-1's, game ends a draw.
No single play was ultimately too lucky, it was just the combination on both sides. His bulls handling the ball well, his abundance of 1d POW blocks, his early armor breaks...my late armor breaks, decent dodging, nobody important hurt badly...and of course, both team's apo negated a RIP to a key player! (My str4 SV, his guard/MB CD blocker.) Decent cash both sides, single skill both sides, no serious injuries, no loss of FF...I've had worse games, believe you me!”
