#1 Jochen Wächter – Dead (RIP)
Great stuff Duke!!!

Always a pleasure to read a good match report.

Actually its only the Counts of the team who are somewhat disappointed, coaching staff and thralls are proud of their efforts, as they know when they meet a worthy opponent.

Cheers!

#11 Zcorba – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#11 Zcorba – Serious Concussion (-AV)
The Norse lined up against the fearsome Vampires, in what looked to be a tense and dangerous match for both sides.

The first half saw some strange time keeping by the umpire, with the clock first going back, then later forwards, to the confusion of players and crowd alike.

The Norse kicked off first, and were quickly into the melee, with block flying everywhere. But it was the norse, more so when in single combat that came out on top, which would continue for the entire match.

During the melee, the ball came to rest in the hands of the rookie Plupp, who was instructed up the field, soon to be joined and escorted to the end zone by team star and captain Coopie.

After shaking their heads at the small error, the Vampires retook the field, redoubling their efforts. So strong was their resolve that Fortify the minotaur was slain, but the apothecary was on hand.

Down the pitch the Vampires drove, and within sight of the end zone 2 Norse lineman broke out and in a last ditch attempt, bravely attacked the count holding the ball. The count gathered enough energy to try and score once more, but the ball just slipped from his grasp and the half ended ... 1-0 to the Norse.

The second half the Norse received, but the bloody first half had left them short of players. Under pressure the Thrower tried to reach one of the Norse that had ventured up field, but missed and the ball lay in the open.

Once securing the ball the Vampires drove down the field, clearing a path as they went, again, like the firts half, 2 Norse took down the count with the ball, but this time, in an inspired play, the Vampires sent their thralls forward to clear room, and a count dived between two players, to collect the ball and throw it to the clear thrall Ralph Richter, who had the last action of the game, running into the end zone as the whisle blew.

In the end a draw, in a very hard fought encounter, and one that would see both teams licking their wounds as they left the field.

The Vampire coach may be a little dissapointed with the draw, but the Norse took it as a point well gained against a worthy opponent.
