#1 Kalroth the Fleshflayer – Dead (RIP) #14 Sergral Doomsinger – Serious Concussion (-AV)
“XFL Dark Elf match - round 1.
We had a disconnect on one of my turns and it was slightly different on the reload but we tried to replicate best we could. Not sure if the replay file works or not sorry.

My opponent had some really bad luck here.
Two out of his three nigglers failed to turn up leaving him with 13 for the match (including two freebooted linemen).
The Falcons started with a Blitz! but played conservatively, blitzing a Witch on the line of scrimmage and leaping a Lineman to underneath the ball. The Lineman caught the ball, but was promptly knocked out thanks to Knuckledusters (adding +1 to the injury roll of 7).
Shortly after, a foul KO'd another, leaving the Falcons with 9 players.
The Falcons targetted the Loyals' DP for a foul and caused him a MNG.
Then he hit my Blitzer who had Guard and Mighty Blow and caused a RIP and the apothecary failed. Ouch, looking very sad with 8 vs 10. However, my opponent then had some horrid luck with a Blitz netting double skulls rerolled into double skulls!
This allowed me to blitz his ball carrier with 2 dice, picking it up deep in his half. Whilst it was possible for my opponent to put a tackler on my Witch with the ball to at least force a 2+ dodge, he chose instead to blitz elsewhere with his Witch and pressure the score with several players retreating back.
The Falcons scored and on defence, had a bad kick giving the Loyals a touchback. The Loyals did not have much luck with their blocks, and started to form up a loosish cage.
This is when I tried some mindgames by saying 'where is my Str4 Leap'? Not sure if it worked or not, but my opponent then bunched in his Thrower right close to his line and then put two more players behind him when it looked initially like he was going to do something different.
So it was 5 or 6 players under the fireball and I nailed 3? of them, causing a RIP on his Witch (apothed) and THEN I leaped in with my Str 4 and knocked the ball free. It scattered on my player who caught it in 2 tackle zones, so a very lucky move.
From there the Falcons were able to secure a late score to take it to 2-0 at the half time break. I had insane first half luck, 92 late in the period, though I started both turns on defence so did not have much to do.
Second half, it was 10 Falcons vs 9 Loyals. A great kick by the Loyals put pressure on the Falcons. An early double skulls used up a RR and then a 1 was rolled to pick the ball up.
The Loyals KO'd or BH a Falcons player to have it 9 vs 9, but were unable to get the ball. The Falcons recovered the ball and sent it deep. The Loyals continued to roll an amazing amount of Pows (my opponent even commented on it) to keep the Falcons under pressure.
However, the Falcons were able to recover the ball and get the score to seal the victory.
With 2 or 3 turns left with 9 vs 9, the Loyals were able to force their way down one side and set up a score.
The Falcons declined a foul on the Loyals' prone Witch Elf with Mighty Blow and then had their best Linemen injured on a blitz and they saw red and T16 fouled the Witch in revenge (for a KO heh).
--------------
Another scary moment came post match when the MVP went to a Blitzer with 71 SPP, but he made his roll :)
Was a fun tense match though I did not play my best (3 AM) and was a bit slow. My opponent had some cruddy luck early on with quad skulls and a fair few ones eating up his rerolls. The Falcons failed nothing, with 7 or 8 rerolls left at the end of the first half. Well they failed the crucial apothecary roll, but there is no team reroll for that! LOL.
Anyways, I wish my opponent good luck and fun in the future.
Round 2 is Plorg who is reknown for being a basher/fouler. Looks like PeteW is going to have an easy 3rd round opponent as it will be a brutal match :) ”
