#8 William Irons – Broken Ribs (MNG) #8 William Irons – Smashed Knee (NI)
“Started the match kicking, then got myself in a very good position due to a Blitz! result. Thought I had the situation under control, but the CD made casualties in rapid succession, and the ball slipped away from my control. Guess I was too greedy - trying to score with the 13spp DP instead of my GRs. Greed also overcame McCloud, as a late trip on gfi with his BC made his hobgoblin the only one eligible scorer, which I knocked down promptly to secure 0-0 at half time. I'm not sure what his BC was doing there, I'd be surprised if the handoff to the AG1 bull would've worked in rain.
Second half looked bad for me, as the AV didn't hold on my side again. Retreated a bit, then saw McCloud put all his tacklers on one side of the field, far enough for my GR to be just out of reach of anyone but the troll. Made a risky pass and it paid off with the winning TD. With 3 turns to go still, the CD offence was surprisingly easy to stop, but a second TD wasn't realized. The CD could've tied on a longbomb from hobgoblin to hobgoblin, but that didn't work thankfully. :)
Thanks for the game, and see you at a rematch!
Note to self: don't do 1d blocks when luck is down.”
