This is one of the few return games the Fossils have played against teams in the SWL Divisions, and the Fossils are enjoying a 2-0 game score against the Northern Blight (note to self: remember the generous TR advantage before getting too cocky).

The Fossils were looking forward to fielding a full team for the first time in a number of games. Full of confidence they elected to receive the kick and rush in a rapid opening score. Then Nuffle paid two skulls to enter the ground and both teams luck plummeted. Balljuggler's AG5 was no help against snake-eyes and then a rerolled 3+ pick-up attempt. By end of turn 2 the ball was returned by the crowd to a safe pocket for the Blight and they composed themselves to score.

Fossils received the kick a second time and tried to make amends. Forming a “cage” of sorts in the middle of the ground allowed a safe place for Balljuggle to hide with the ball. The Blight swarmed like bees around a honey-pot leaving a tough mass of players to clear for the turn 8 score. Silverstam Strekoff's side-step was a right pain in the tail as he avoided going down on block and blitz. Yet a bit of Balljuggler magic allowed a 4 dodge run to score, leaving the Blight crowd on the verge of rioting - calling for his blood.

Second half ran much more according to the usual script, with first Blight then Fossils receiving and scoring. It was in the dying stages of the game when Vugdish II intercepted a pass intended again for the deep Silverstam Strekoff (though he was rather exposed on the sideline). Skink speed saw the ball travel deep and safe, securing the Fossil's 3-2 win.

Thanks for the sporting game Patrician (appreciate your good humour when playing higher TR teams with AV7).

Twahnlows:
3pts - #15 Oldbugmanof Perfectoss, most notably for his dodging run and pass at the start of the 2nd half that set up #10 Silverstam Strekoff's second TD

2pts - #10 Silverstam Strekoff, scoring but just as important was his side-step in defense.

1pt - #8 Yanovi 'Titan' Frostham, quality blocking putting Fossils on the deck even if not in the dugout.

Frustrating performance by the Blight against a pack of faster, stronger and talented lizards. Their armour just refused to be broken.

Twahnlows

#3 - Balljugler. AG5 Stunty is just plain wrong.

#2 - Vugdish II. For the intercept that broke the Blight's spirits

#1 - Balldancer - two TDs and a whole lotta running.

The Blight will have to try much harder to even things up next time they face the Fossils.
