Obviously Malthor needs to feel vindicated in some way, but I just don't appreciate being fouled by an opponent with a 3 man advantage, a 1 TD lead, control of the ball and 3 turns left to go when I don't have an apoth.

It was not strategic or necessary, and as a result of his determined attempts to damage my team he threw away a third touch down by throwing blocks and fouls before moving the ball up the pitch (and got a 1 dice turnover for his trouble).

It is a competitive league, but that isn't an excuse to act like a tool, and fouling me near the end there offered no competitive advantage whatsoever, as he had well and truely won the game already.

SWL Season 15 League Match - Round 2 of some bottom division.

A close match on paper with the Rancho Carne Toros having only 10 players, but 4 with skills vs the Eternal Rage who had 11 skill-less Linemen.

The Rancho started in offence and were Blitzed! The Rage managed to knock one player over with a blitz, but promptly rolled snakes on a GFI to put a TZ on the player who was underneath the falling ball.

The Toros tried to consolidate whilst the Rage pushed forward. The Toros KO'd a player but the Rage were able to steal the ball and run it deep.

The Toros got two two dice blocks on the ball carrier and only got pushes (quite unlucky) and the Rage were able to force their way through for the go ahead score.

On the next kickoff, the Rage got a Perfect Defence (more luck) and put pressure on the Toros. The kick was also a nasty one, landing in the endzone and the Toros had some difficulty picking it up and later passing it, even with Gutter Runners.

Meanwhile, the Rage pushed into the Toros half and could actuall get to the ball with a pushback and then a 2+ dodge, but it was not to be with Skull/Pow and Skull being the order of the day.

The Toros recovered the ball, only to lose it again and the Rage were in a position to possibly take a 2-0 lead into the half, but the Skaven managed to pick up the ball and throw it deep into Rage territory and the Rage concentrated on attacking the Toros players rather than trying an unliikely twin GFI, pick up and long bomb to the LOS area and then run, hand off, catch, GFI to score heh.

The Rage knocked over some Toros players and fouled the Storm Vermin, unfortunately causing a -AV which was saved. A KO or BH would have been better as it meant the apoth would not have been used.

Anyways, second half, the Rage started in offence, and it was the Toros turn to do a Perfect Defence! With a player advantage (10 v 8?) the Rage were able to cage the ball behind the line of scrimmage and then three players broke forward with the ball.

The Toros knocked the ball free with a one dice Pow but the Rage recovered and then used a chain pushback blitz to set up a 1 GFI score to take the score to 2-0.

The Toros lined up on offence and brought the ball forwards.

The Rage gambled and sent everyone forward to pressure the Toros players, but they made a stack of 3+ dodges got the ball wide and well screened and ran in the score.

With a 2-1 advantage, the Rage started in offence. As the Toros had fouled the Rage back this half to take the eye of the Rage, the Rage did a third foul for the match.

At this point, my opponent said I was fouling like an ass... I told him that I was fouling to get a player advantage (no rerolls and all vs Dodge and Block skills).

He said "whatever", and fouled me, and then fouled me again with the Ref on him.

I thought this was a tourney/league. I didn't foul excessively, in fact each of my fouls were with the ref not watching me and so it was a tactical move.

Anyway, we will just have to agree to disagree over tactics.

Anyway, the match fizzled out and was soon over.
------------
My opponent really had a rough time today with the luck. I got a Blitz and a Perfect Defence to give me momentum and then he kept rolling 1s to handle the ball with his Gutter Runners. Meanwhile, I rarely failed much as I dodged my way to stealing the ball etc.

The Toros however did make lots of dodges and had lots of successful blocks hence their very high luck reading. It was just the rolls he did fail came at very very unfortunate times (eg 4 dice not getting a pow, skull/pow or dodge/pow to stop my score, his 1s on ball handling, getting Blitzed).

So a large part of my victory was due to the help of lucky dice at critical imes.

Anyways, best of luck with the rest of the season Virral.

We will have to agree to disagree here. I fouled once late in the game after you fouled me back to take the ref off me. And I blitzed to clear away your guy so I could advance the cage without dodging. 2 dice to get pushes is alot easier than 2 dodges.

So it was late blocking and fouls - it was one foul, and when is blocking late in a game to get SPP vindictive?

We will have just agree to disagree. I certainly will not call you names because you don't like my game strategy or style. Peace to you.
