Da Rippas win another intense match after OT!
Both teams brought a wizard to the match, and the elves also enlisted teh services of Jordell Freshbreeze.
First half, the elves stalled for as long as they could before scoring 1-0. Da Rippas had 4 turns to equalise, which we did with some luck. Blitzer Gulok intercepted a pass after the elves had popped the ball, and could hand off to Lineorc Orgosh for a last turn TD.
2nd half, the elf wizard fireballed the orc cage as soon as it reached the LOS. This allowed the elves to steal the ball and set up a very good attempt to stall out the 2nd half with the ball 1 square from Da Rippas' end zone. In turn 6, recognizing that the elves need only to stall one more turn to secure the win, the orc Weirdboy fired his lightning bolt to pop the ball. The orc Blitzers worked their way through the elf screen and agile Blitzer Gulok could throw the ball out to waiting Thrower Rasch. Da Rippas had set up a hand-off possibility in anticipation of this, and could move the ball into scoring range and out of the Defenders' blitz range. Blitzer Gulak scored 2-1 with one elf turn left on the clock.
The Defenders set up for a chainpush OTS, when the fans decided to invade the field. They miraculously failed to disturb the chainpush however, and the elves made it 2-2 and OT.
Da Rippas were lucky to receive in OT. The Defenders soon ran out of RR, and could not play up to their normal game. After one of the Wardancers ran into a 1d skull when trying to pop the ball, Da Rippas just removed the elves from the field and scored the winning TD in the last turn. THe elves fought bravely to the very end, and somewhere in there Jordell was killed (although I hear he's recovering somehow). Star Black Orc Kumag made a stellar performance, scoring 4 cas and several KO.
Well played OldBugman, thx for the great game.”
