“Violent game. After turn 4, I'd received twice, and he'd scored twice, nobody was injured, and it was looking like a serious thrashing was coming up for me.
I caged it up and started trying to beat people up - my only foul for the match (or for the TEAM, from memory) killed a guy, and then people started getting HURT.
I had astoundingly good luck on block rolls and on armour rolls, and the elves started rolling a few ones.
After that, it was mostly a matter of knocking all the elves over and running on in - it was looking like 4-2 on the last turn, but his thrower pulled off a heroic dodge/pickup to hurl the ball deep into my backfield, and I couldn't get it back in time.
Kudos to my opponent, who kept up his politeness and sense of humour even when the dice were beating the crap out of him.
edit: Quadros is lying. His best play was on my second receive, when he got a blitz, caught the kickoff, stayed standing after my furious assault, and dodged through four guys to score. The "spiteful" backfield bomb was SECOND. :D”
The sabres were steamrolling at turn 4, 2-0 up, and then, just like that, remembered that they were, you know, elves, and got beaten up. Furthermore, the single best play from me in the entire game was to launch a long bomb with a lineman to...
the 25 yard line of the Norse backfield. Impressive, or just plain spiteful?
I'm going into my next game with 9 men, and no thrower
Halflings, please?
Gratz to my opponent, who couldn't have been more apologetic about how well his team does the whole 'rape and pillage' thing, that being the Norse way.
Edit: Nonchalance is right. That WAS pretty impressive! :P”
