Wild swings of luck in this game.

On the opening whistle the ball was kicked deep. A blitz at the LOS by the Orcs resulted in a Doubleskull-reroll-Doubleskull allowing the riders to skirt the LOS and put a screen of players between the ball and the rest of the orcish team. Surc Gougedeye reached the ball first, but on his own with no support in sight, had to risk a pass over the screen. Slyblade came up with the intercept and made an easy score.

The rest of the half was a slow grind upfield by the Orcs which the riders contained reasonably well despite losing players to the dugout. Fortunately for the riders the greenskins had to sprint for the line in the closing seconds and tripped, leaving it at 1-0 at half time.

The second half started just like the first with the roles reversed. This time the riders failed their blitz (doubleskull-reroll-doubleskull) leaving the ball carrier painfully exposed from the short kick. The Orcs caged and ground upfeld in the face of some spirited resistance by the riders. We succeeded in getting the ball and I thought I was away , my ball carrier covered by a loose screen. Sandune did it well though and managed to get through and jolt the ball free. A turn later Redfang scored in short order leaving the riders two turns to clinch the game.

In the end a simple raid down the left-hand side put a number of players in scoring position and the orc blitz failed again leaving a relatively simple long bomb from deep to see Slyblade in for his second.

Twhanlows

3 Points. Brack Gutrot. His game stats say it all. Guard, Tackle, MB isn't a combination we find especially attractive and he put those skills to good use all over the field.
2 Points. Dronx Blackhide. Frenzy+Tackle meant he got a lot of hits on the Riders and while we tried to lure him away from the action with sidestep but he kept coming back. He put Danksight into the crowd as well to cause our only lasting injury.
1 Point. Surc Gougedeye. For trying. Poor guy, he held the ball for long periods and scooped it up reliably when required.
