“2 new teams meeting for their first games, Rookie v Rookie. Coach Maul led his newest team The Royal Chargers into battle with DG 11a.
The Humans won the toss and kicked off. The rats made a few mistakes early on, almost coughing up the ball but the gutter Runners were able to step in and recover to score a turn 4 Touchdown.
Receiving the ball, the Chargers formed a cage and moved inexhorably towards the Skaven Inzone, causing a few headaches as they went. By the end of the run, there was one rat KO'd, one SI and an unfortunate Death. Despite the rabid attempts of the Gutter Runners, the Chargers walked in their first TD in T8.
The Rats kicked off in the second half and the Chargers again employed the cage to fight their way up the field and towards a second Touchdown. Another Death was caused, with the Blitzers doing their jobs and causing both Deaths so far. Coach Maul was left with the decision of wether to stall for 5 turns to ensure the victory or to TD this turn. He decided, in the spirit of the game, to TD, preferring to play an exciting draw than grind out a boring victory.
Kickoff to the rats and they put on a display of now or never Bloodbowl. With the Gutters running the whole show and throwing, catching and dodging through a bazillion tacklezones to score a lightning fast TD before their ball carriers were ran down by the ruthless Chargers.
This left Coach Maul with 3 turns to score the game winning TD. The Gutter Runners put up a stellar defensive effort on this drive, refusing to go down under a torrent of 2d blocks. Causing real headaches for coach Maul and his Chargers. A blitz by a line rat managed to force the ball free but a last gasp blitz, pickup and 2 go for its saw the game winning touchdown scored by Blitzer Butch Kinkaide.
Great game. Solid winnings and The Royal Chargers Fanclub grew in size post game.
Coach Maul signed up an Apothecary into a three year, one healing per match contract.
No skill rolls to be made.”
