“This was a good game with a good result for me. And for coach Henry4th, I want to make this a learning experience for him, so I will try to give some advice. I hope I don't sound to condecending...
First off, he tried to play Dark Elves like Orcs, just bash 'em up! Elves can't surviv a battle like Chaos can, and it showed. It wasn't until he had already taken two casualties that he began to win the mid-pitch brawl, and that was only because I had already stolen the ball from him and was using my spare players to stall the half out. He finally got some stuns and KOs, but nothing too serious. And to top it off, I had an apothecary the whole time.
Elvs are no good for bashing. Just dodging and scoring. If you want to bash and stay on your feet while dodging and stuff, I suggest Amazons. With all dodge, they are hard to knock down and with easy access to Block, they can really hit hard. But the aggressive way that coach Henry4th plays really calls for Orcs or Undead. That is what I really suggest.
Second, both times I popped the ball loose, the ballcarrier was completely exposed and had no protection. With Horns, it was easy to get a favorable result on the dice. Like I did with my cage on my offensive drive, protect the ballcarrier.
Don't be afraid to dodge! I know he was trying to block as much as possible, but sometimes he would stand players up next to someone un-important when they could provide an assist just 2+ on a dice away.
Many people here find it outrageous when players foul excessively. We both made 4, and I don't care too much, but especially on the last turn like you did. On fumbbl, Big No No. It's like some un-written rule that "good sports don't turn 16 foul"... Anyway, just giving you a heads up. You will be hated for it.
Lastly, and this is minor, don't leave only one player back to get the ball on offense. Like what happened, the crowd invaded the pitch and stomped your intended ballcarrier flat, delaying your drive by the amount of time it took you to get a new player back there and scoop up the ball. Meanwhile, my Beastmen were invading your backfield waiting to pop the guy who licked it up.
Anyway, I hope that wasn't offensive, and I really hope you enjoyed your first match on fumbbl! Welcome!”
