A fine battle in store - Undead versus Dwarves. Forged for Slaughter received the kickoff, and some quick ball movements brought them through a hole on the right side of the Chess Masters' line. Anealed Anarchist tried to break through, but Max Euwe knocked him over, jarring the ball loose. Euwe scooped up the ball, and launched a wild pass to Mikhail Tal, who bobbled but held the ball. Tal managed to get to the endzone to start off his day.

The following kickoff saw some imperfect defense from the Chess Masters, but a fumbled pass from the dwarves let the Chess Masters have a go at it. The bouncing ball proved too much to handle, and the half came to a close.

The Chess Masters emerged for the second half, renewed and ready to pound their way to victory. Mikhail Tal gathered the bad kick near the midline, and Botvinnik headed downfield to receive the pass... but a banana peel thrown caused a bad slip and fall. Tal maneuvered back to the right side of the line; the left side had been thoroughly Dwarfed! A collection of powerful blocks collapsed the right side of the dwarven line, and Tal raced in for another score.

On the following kickoff, yet another dwarf fumble allowed the Tal to race in for the ball, however, he tripped while attempting to gather it in, and Frank Marshall ended up with it. Marshall was dispossessed in a flash, and the dwarves were in business... But, failing to pick the ball up proved disastrous, and Tal pitched the ball to Max Euwe for touchdown number three.

A hard match for the dwarfs, fumbles and skulls abounded on their dice. A solid match for the Dead Chess Masters - who demonstrated their ability to manage the ball, and take advantage of bad breaks for the opposition.
