“Borgen. I'm really sorry you feel this way about the final. Imo, fouling during a tournament final is perfectly acceptable, and at the time I saw OT as my best chance of winning. There was a small chance that you might have got your KOs back and scored.
Secondly, in OT, I was told by an admin that is was fine for you to hide your players, but if I didn't cage and try to score then I could be banned for match fixing. My hands were tied.
I hope you believe me on the second point and forgive me for the fouling, because I value your friendship.”
1st half: The Savants scoring drive is stopped, 0-0.
2nd half: down to 8 men, the Dragons heroically score!
No KOs come back, so we're playing 7 against 11. DP fouls each turn (the ref was apparently on vacation), even when its down to 3 guys on the field and he's fouling my star player off the ball! I think this inspired a forum thread - cool!
Instead of trying to score 2 TDs in 5 turns - WHAT A BLOOD BOWL PLAYER WOULD DO - the Savants waste time debating existential philosophy and score on turn 8, leading to overtime.
In overtime the Dragons begin with 5 players. Instead of fighting on - WHAT A BLOOD BOWL PLAYER WOULD DO - their coach decides he needs to go to work before he gets fired. The dragons retreat to the corners of the field, cowering.
The Savants, tired of standing around and doing nothing but fouling decide they want to start to play! Even if its only with themselves. They manage to complete several magnificent passes to one another, and to the amazement of the onlooking dragons, score TWO touchdowns!
So ends the first official tournament of the dark elves playing the dark elves.
Rumor has it PeteW has turned over a new leaf, and will now accept any challenge. I've been coaching along this new dance troupe and converting them into blood bowl players, they have picked up the game remarkably quickly and would love to play sometime! :)”
