“My initial game plan of getting the most out of my better armour fell to pieces as the gutter runners time after time stole the ball, and no rats got injured or KO'ed as the game went on.
Down 2-0 I had a chance to run the ball in for a TD, but opted to block first (2D w. Block vs no Block): Dbl skulls with no RR, and down 3-0 after some amazing linerat ballhandling.
Basically the better coaching skills of my opponnent settled the game: There is a clear difference between floating around 150-160 and staying on 160+.
“The Rats lined up against the High Elves in what looked to be an exciting match in prospect and indeed it was.
The Rats managed to find a way through to the Elven ball carrier and were took the lead 1-0. They almost managed a second before half time, but the Elves pulled off an amazing play, downing the ball carrier and throwing the ball upfield, where they were unluck not to score.
The second half had the rats receiving and the Elves were unable to contain all the gutter runners, one of whom made it through to score. At 2-0 down the Elves started a fight make and within sight of the end zone to make it 2-1, they looked at a block elsewhere, and Nuffle stepped in to end their turn early with double skulls, giving the Rats a chance to reach the ball carrier and in an unlikely play, score a 3rd.
A fun game against a friendly coach, and one where the Skaven armour held up very well, the luck also fairing on the side of the Rats.
