“The 100th match for the Revolution! Coach Synn asked me who was going to get the honor...well, whom else?
1st half:
Elves receive and the ko result is a blitz which puts Pancho into the ko box. A blitzer quickly follows and my dp is BH on the goats 1st real turn. John Adams receives the pass and 1-dies away the tentacled CW to get into open space. He survives a rerolled blitz and is sandwiched, but used his ag5 to dodge out of the pinch for the score. 1-0.
Both ko'd elves stay that way for the following kickoff. Ko result is a pitch invasion which levels 5 of the 7 elves still one the pitch. Elves try and dance to the open spots as they can but goats are everywhere - along the way Susan B. Anthony SI's herself (mng) on a failed dodge. A handoff to a CW allows John Adams to stand up and 2-die red for a double-pow, no reroll needed. He scoops and runs away from the pack but gets 3-died down. An ag4 goat makes a gfi, picks up the ball, passes it to a waiting CW who catches it and makes a gfi for the score. 1-1.
2nd half:
Goats receive and kill Singh on a blitz (apo saves him). Elves are foiled on a couple risky attempts to set up a 1-die on the ballcarrier. On turn 3, a goat attempts to hand off to a CW who muffs the handoff to the feet of Yasser Arafat. Elves mark the tentacled CW and blitz him down allowing Yasser to scoop the ball in traffic and attempt a short throw to Aguinaldo waiting downfield and ready to run out of reach - unfortunately, Yasser "Arafats" the pass (double 1's) and it falls at his feet.
Goats try and unmark the ball but it gets knocked outiside the main scrum and allows the elves another opportunity. Singh flattens Go Go Gyro on a blitz, scoops the ball in traffic, and dodges onto the Goat's half of the pitch. Pulled Pork knocks himself down on the blitz and it allows Adams to blitz away the tentacles from Singh on a rerolled 1-die - which causes the elves not to gfi (but in hindsight they probably should have anyways). Singh gets tentacled again and Adams is surrounded. Adams dodges through 2 tzs and lays a 1-die on the CW but rerolls into a skull. Singh is 3-died down and a CW scoops up the ball and passes to the waiting ag4 goat. Pancho manages to dodge free and lays a blitz on one of the free goats in scoring range, pushing him back to mark the other as well. Adams and Singh both fail to dodge away from the tentacles to mark the ag4 goat.
Final turn for the Goats:
A now free troll waltzes over to help mark Pancho who is pushed back away by one of the goats to give an open angle for the passer to hit the other. Go Go Gyro walks up and throws a short pass but misfires and the ball hits the ground in front of Pork Log... and then bounces up into his hands! Pork Log walks in for the winning score. 2-1.
A truly amazing end to these elves' 100th game! Thanks for coach Synn for another memorable match (and the 100k winnings, too).”
“One of the more intense matches I have had in a long while. This was a contest between 2 teams that had definitely seen better days. The elves set up to receive and were rewarded with a blitz knocking out their star catcher. While Goats were rampaging in their back field, the elves launched the ball forward and managed to score on turn 3 giving me the rest of the half to play “Smack the elf”.
The Goat offense ran smoothly up field and isolated all the elves in little pockets away from the ball…… with one exception. I handed off to my tentacled warrior who was covering a prone elf. Said prone elf simply got to his feet and smashed the warrior to the ground and grabbed the ball! (pow, pow). In rage I blasted the elf with a three dice blitz and scooped up the ball for a quick pass to an awaiting warrior for the TD at the buzzer.
Second half saw all the elves wake up from their KO box. First turn I blitzed down a blitzer and moved my tentacles to cover his three most dangerous players, including the prone blitzer. My dirty goat ran forward and killed the blitzer only to get caught! The elven apoth did his job as the Goat fans roared in delight.
Working the ball up that flank lead to a brilliant blitz following a blown blitz of my own and the ball was heading towards my end zone unopposed. My tentacles managed to catch the ball carrier while the nearest elf was pounded to the ground. The Goats surged backward and gang blitzed the elf with the ball taking him down. The tentacled warrior then scooped up the ball and delivered a pass to the hands of my awaiting nimble goat to set up the play of the game….
Final turn… the nimble goat runs forward and delivers a pass to the awaiting goat in scoring position only to come up short! The ball lands in front of the goat, hits a rock, takes and awkward bounce, and lands right in his hands for the game breaking TD!
Absolutely amazing game. Just so its clear, the “6 fouls” from Hot Dog is in accurate as in the first half I encountered a bug where I was stuck fouling an empty square and hearing the sound effects. Had I known it counted as fouls…. I would have kept doing it showing a good 100 fouls for the match!
Good luck in the ELF season pizza and rematch at somepoint.
Peace,
__Synn ”
