A very tough game against one of the best on FUMBBL.

The handicaps were:

Buzzing
Knuckledusters (both given to a Wardancer with Tackle and Sidestep)
Palmed Coin
It Wasn't Me (on my AG5 Blodge Tackle Sidestep Blitzer)

My opponent started in offence and had an amazing first three turns, causing 3 casualties to me (2 MNG and a BH) before scoring to take a 1-0 lead.

The Falcons on their own offence started brutally, killing the Astendari one turner with a block and unfortunately for ankkh, his apothecary failed.

The Falcons were soon under pressure with the ball deep in their own half and no potential scorers in sight. The Astendari Wardancer with Buzzing was getting closer and closer to the Blood Falcons quarterback and the Falcons broke with tradition and fouled first in a non tourney game where the opponent was neither stalling nor trying to kill their players. The Dirty Player was not used, instead a Thrower lay in the boot and unfortunately for all, the Wardancer was niggled.

This annoyed ankkh quite a bit (understanably so) and he spent the rest of the drive using RR to try and bring my Witches down to try and return the favour, but they would either get Badly Hurt, KO or not go down to get fouled heh.

The Falcons scored late and the Astendari used their great skill to pull off a chain push TD after using a foul to clear off a player that was blockiing their path. I tried but it was just a bit too hard to stop heh.

With one turn left the Falcons went for their own chain push TD but with a MA7 player. Despite a quicksnap, the coach set up wrong and found himself one square short for the attempt. Doh!

Second half, the Falcons started with the ball and trailing 1-2.

They played a slow drawn out offence and slowly got a player advantage as they KO and BH a couple of players and the Astendari Tree was rooted on the line of scrimmage.

An unlucky snake eyes for ankkh left his Wardancer stunned and let the Blood Falcons cage in the corner and run down the game clock some more. My opponent made some lucky rolls to knock the ball loose and then scoop it up, but his throw went wild.

The Falcons recovered the ball, but their coach made a rookie sleep deprived move and ran into the end zone with the ball on his way to handing it off to another player!!! That is what 5 months of sleep deprivation does to you lol.

This suddenly gave the Astendari two turns to win the game. The block on the line of scrimmage were not that effective, but they still got 3 players into scoring distance (one being the MA10 Catcher just over the line of scrimmage).

ankky made his only mistake of the game (only one I noticed anyway) when he set up a blitz chain push on my player only to discover that I had Sidestep. He had to change his plans and go for a one dice blitz instead. This came up Skull rerolled in to a Pow.

With no RR left, the Astendari made some 3+ dodges to get to the end zone, then 2 GFI to set up a long bomb (only 3+ though) attempt in the sun and luckily for the Falcons, the catch in the end zone was dropped and they escaped with a hard fought draw.
-----------
Top marks to ankkh who again played a top game and put me under immense pressure. I actually expected to lose this game and possibly not score a single TD coming in so I did much better than I thought I woudl do. I was forced to make aging rolls with my AG6 Thrower after leaving him on 125 for a few games and luckily for me, I got -AG for aging so no niggle and still a very useful player.

My opponent got +AG for his MA 10 Catcher which was great. He was very unfortunate to fail his apoth roll and also suffer a niggle out of 4 total casualties for the match. My 2 BH and 2 MNG suffered was much much kinder.

Best of luck ankkh and maybe a rematch in the future.
