The Runesmith's Guild was preparing in the locker room. "Okay guys, let's go hit 'em!" said captain Blitzer Ibun Redplate as he swallowed some pills.

"Hey, where did you get those?" asked a team-mate.

"Uh, coach gave them to me special," replied Ibun hesitantly.

"Yes, I gave them to him to inspire him as captain. I don't have any more and they were very hard to get. They cost me a lot of money," said Coach Oblitzamanger.

"You are supposed to be earning more money for us, not spending it, coach," said Longbeard Dori Craftyhammer.

"Don't worry," the coach replied. "I'm sure we'll have some more money after this game."

They heard the ref blow the whistle and they walked out onto the pitch. Redplate won the coin toss and decided to let the Chaos Dwarves recieve the ball. Besides, who needed a ball anyway to play Blood Bowl?

The game started and Hobgoblin Freak passed the ball to Hobgoblin Flippy, who handed it off to Hobgoblin Freebee, who dropped it under the pressure of 56000 fans screaming at him. The ball bounced to the only Bull Centaur, Thurk, who neatly picked up the ball. "Quit messing up," he said to the poor slave as he charged forward headlong into a blitz.

However, Trollslayer Thorin Loremallet was waiting for him and stood like a rock against the charge. The ball went loose and Thurk hit the ground. Runner Parin Rockbow picked up the ball and was protected by Ibun Redplate, whose strength seemed to have increased. Thurk got up and blitzed Parin's other protector, only to be shoved into the crowd by a frenzied and dauntless Thorin. However, the crowd wasn't harsh and delivered him back to his dugout. With some well-placed blocks, Parin rushed through the gap to race to the endzone.

However, the obvious star of the team, Minotaur Kurn, dodged away from a Longbeard and laid his head low to smash Rockbow with his horns. Parin flew backwards, stunned, and the ball fell from his grip. It went to the crowd, which threw it in back towards Turk's Surprise's endzone. With every Dwarf player out of reach, Hobgoblin Freak raced back to get it. As Kurn cleared the way, Freak passed it to Freebee, who again dropped the ball! This time, Furn was ready to tear the poor Hobgoblin's head off, but he was instantly surrounded by Dwarven players vying to get the ball.

Trollslayer Rorin Songhelm, in the fury surrounding the ball, managed to snap the neck of an unfortunate Hobgoblin. The medics arrived just in time to save the poor slave from death. Then, when Ibun Redplate made a mistake and was knocked down, Runner Kain Tombhands paid for it as Kurn gutted him right out of the match. After that, Kurn stood taller amonst all the other players and roared in triumph. But just as he thought he was in the clear, with his last concscious moments, Kain kicked his legs out from under him, knocking him down.

However, as time ran out, Parin picked up the ball and ran under protection as Thurn was fouled, but only stunned. Halftime: 0 - 0

The second half started as gloriously as the first in the perfect weather. Thurk and his gang lined up almost entirely on the Line of Scrimage. The Guild, one player short, was out-manned. However, with some well-placed blocks, and some dauntless Trollslayers, the front line held as Parin Rockbow got the ball in the back. He ran upfield to where the big scary monsters were, but as he became more pressured, he switched the field and ran to the other side of the pitch, where a key Hobgoblin had just been knocked out.

He ran at full speed, but was not covered correctly and Chaos Dwarf Dursas saw his opportunity. He ran straight at Parin screaming, "Let go of that ball or I'll kill you!"

Parin was rather inclined to let go as he fell backwards, prone. However, Longbeards Merin Bloodtooth and Roin Graniteleg, upon hearing Dursas's cries, turned around and yelled, "Hey! Only wwe get to threaten our team-mates like that you lillyflabber!" as they smashed him down, allowing Parin to get up and pick up the ball, then hide behind protection. Another well-placed block by the pair provided the gap that Rockbow needed to dash through. As he went by, he murmurred, "Good work guys," and then was out of there in a flash, or as fast as Dwarves can go.

Upon intructions from Coach oblitzamanger, Parin sat by the endzone for a few turns as the clock winded down. The Guild knocked out many players, including Thurk himself. The Chaos Dwarves were on the losing end of the fight as Rockbow was finally given the okay to score.

The clock ran out as the score showed 1 - 0 Runesmith's Guild.

After the game, Coach Oblitzamanger waled over to shake Coach Henry4th's hand as they exchanged pleasant words such as, "I'll be glad to play you anytime" or "Thanks for the game."

Then, he went back to his dugout and signaled everyone into th locker room. "Will Kain be okay?" asked Ibun as the effects of the pills were wearing off.

"Yes, he will. He'll be back for the next game. And to prevent injuries from occuring again, I will hire an apothecary for the team, okay?" Everyone nodded in agreement. He continued. "I want to thank you all for giving me the opportunity to coach you as my repayment. That aside, I have given my payment for this game into rebuilding my credit, and let me tell, it was no small sum! However, I still have a lot of ground to make up. Are you guys still with me to play again?"

"Yeah!" they all cheered in unison.

"Then I have a surprise for you. Well, actually, it is Thurk's surprise..." Just then, the owner of the stadium walked in with several kegs of beer. "It is from the other team," he said as he walked out, shaking Coach Oblitzamanger's hand.

The team cheered again and drank heartily until the night set in.
