#8 Bravida – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#8 Bravida – Smashed Knee (NI)
Indeed I have nothing to add there as tautology has already summed it all up in his very excelent match report good reading. what might be added was that I was about to score in turn 3 falling in the end zone. and that is where tautology's match report kicks off.

Thanx for a really good and fun game. the ones that sway from side to side are often the most fun games.

#8 Apple – Broken Ribs (MNG)
#8 Apple – Serious Concussion (-AV)
This game was not as close as the score might suggest ;-)

After some unfortunate dice for Qaz and some good rolling from me, I managed to steal the ball around turn 4 of the first half, but I was literally on my own goal line when I managed to get it.
With the famous Orcish mobility, I moved the ball quickly upfield, but in my haste I made a bad play and allowed a sneaky MA7 beastman to get an easy blitz on me. I got the ball back, but a failed GFI ended my chance of scoring. In the meantime, Qaz had racked up 3 cas with his dirty play. The ref had finally noted the lead pipe that Dreaded Device had craftily snuck onto the field, and with which he was laying waste to my naive orcs.

The second half started well with a few KO/cas and we had a nice player advantage and a reasonably defensible position. Nuffle finally woke up and took notice however, and layed a quadruple skull pipe up side my head at the very worst time. This left Qaz with an easy pick-up and uncontested rush to the endzone to go up 1-0 with 4 turns to play. The Orcs did manage to scramble after him with enough force that he could waste no time scooting into the endzone, so we at least had a chance to return the score.

The unexpected turn of events seemed to get the crowd riled up, and they stormed onto the field on the ensuing kick-off, dragging off the ref and slipping a shiv into the hands of Sub-Zero, giving him a wink and a nod and pointing in the direction of the Orcish Blitzers. The Orcs spread out and put the ball into the hands of their thrower Sage, trying to put together a short-order elven style drive. Sure enough, Sub-Zero went straight to work and started laying into the Orcs with his shiv, racking up a few more cas. The Orcs were outnumbered and couldn't quite turn the corner on a drive and it looked grim indeed for the Almost Green-skins.

One by one all of the orcish threats were removed from the field until only Amethyst, the color-blind Almost Green-skin, remained with any hope of scoring...but he was covered by two of the Lone-Star defenders and didn't look likely to break free. Meanwhile Sage had booted the ball around playing catch (apparently) with Tea and the ball was lying foolishly on the ground in the back field.

Just when all looked lost, the mighty Alpine, Black orc Blocker extraordinaire, *dodged* away from his man and layed a mighty smack into one of the Lone-Stars covering Amethyst! Sage saw the opportunity, snatched the ball off the pitch, ran as fast as he could downfield and tossed a perfect spiral to Amethyst, who managed to catch it in one hand while applying a stiff-arm to the Lone Star defender! He then dodged once to the right and broke free, leaving the confused and surprised beastman to wonder what had gone wrong, and securing the 1-1 tie.

All in all, a game that seemed a sure win for the Orcs, then a sure win for the Lone Stars....ended up a tie.
Thank you Nuffle, for the lesson in futility :)

And thanks Qaz, for a fun game :)
