#11 N.B. Dabolin – Dead (RIP)

A few clarifications.
First TD for the Nobles was made with a short pass...a 3+ in this case.

The Falcons had then a critical snake eye. Gave me 2-0 with a 4+ catch and the rest 2+.

Then another snake eye for the Falcons make the half time result 2-0.
Pretty lucky so far. We both make one BH in first half.

2nd half starts with the Nobles kicking.
Pitch invasion happens at first kick off in 2nd half.
Sure I got "lucky" with only 2 stuns on my side and 3 on yours. But it sure helped the Falcons more than the Nobles.

Well Falcon's first score was not very "easy". He managed a one dice block (2+), a couple of 2 dice blocks, a critical rerolled one dice block (he got pow) and a couple of 2+. Everything is easy when you manage it. :-)
So 2-1 now.

Then I managed to push around his blodger several times and end up rolling a 1 for catch. His AG5-woman rolls 5*2+ and no failure. I try to Blitz, but I roll a 1 with my catcher dodging....2-2 after more successfull DE-rolls.

3 turns left and an easy TD for the Nobles...no way.
I miss a 3+ catch on my NoS catcher (due to rain) and ball scatters away.
DE makes a lot of rolls and one of them is a kill (apo fails) and the he tosses the ball and fail the catch (3+).

Then I finish the game with 3*2+ to get scorer into endzone and then 4*2+ to get ball (AG6 rocks) and I toss a Longbomb (4+) and I RR the catch (3+) for the win.

All together luck was pretty even and game was very close. Nobles had the luck in first half and Falcons in the second.

I would gladly sacrifice my last TD if it brought back my dead guy. LOL

I'm looking forward to the rematch.

Handicaps were:

It Wasn't Me (on LOS Blodge Sidestepper)
Extra Training
Bribe the Ref 2
-----------
A bizarre luckfest of a game. I started in defence and got a snakes on my first dodge leaving my defence wanting, but barely adequate.

My opponent is pressured and has to make a long bomb to score.

My drive, I get the ball to a player who is 7 from the end zone. I roll snakes on the GFI to score and get stunned. My opponent gets to the ball, picks it up, GFI, avoiids a 6+ intercept, makes a 3+ (or 4+ catch) dodges, hands off etc to score. And I can't get a 2+...

My opponent then gets a Pow on my best defender and causes a casualty.

So down 0-2.

I then face a pitch invasion where I have higher FF but have 3 stunned to his 2 (including one of my Throwers) so am under pressure immediately on offence with limited penetration downfield.

Set up a score and do a hand off instead of running in with a 67 SPP player and I get another snakes in the endzone for no score. This was SPP sharing rather than pumping up a developed player and I took the 1/36 risk and it bit me on the butt.

Second half starting in offence, I score easily then on defence, my opponent finally has some bad rolls and he drops the ball.

I scoop it up and get it to my AG5 Witch who surives a two dice blitz (wihout tackle) and she runs in the score to make it 2-2.

With 3 turns left to score, the Nobles are under pressure and they fail to make the TD on turn 7 and the Falcons recover the ball, but roll a GFI to avoid the first pass blocker and then don't have a reroll to catch the dropped pass upfield.

My opponent makes a truck load of dodges and GFIs again and makes another long bomb TD to steal the match.
-------------
Congratulations to my opponent. He had an unlucky apothecary failure on a RIP and two unlucky passages of play, but he recovered from one of them and both Long Bomb TDs were a little lucky.

On the other hand, I had two TDs lost to snake eyes (and one I was scored on instead). Either one of those TDs would have made a huge difference.

As it was, my opponent had too much assistance with the dice at critical times and the Falcons were beaten on the scoreboard, but not outplayed.

Anyways, I wish Reventlov's team a good recovery.

Addendum - Guess it is one of those 'agree to disagree' things.

I didn't see the luck as pretty even (though it wasn't one sided) as I had three snakes (two critical) in the first half for a 0-2.

Second half I had the better luck, but your critical failure was a 3+, not a 2+ (nor did you have the 3 snakes).

Yes, your first TD was not a long bomb, my mistake :) However you yourself commented on the luck of the score after needing a lot of 3+? and 2+ rolls (and reroll used up part way though) to pull it off.

You are also correct, my first TD was not 'easy'. It did require a one dice push (with a 2+ dodge with Blodger first to clear the path, and then a 2+ dodge). Course you forget the 1 I rolled first with my Thrower to try and bring the ball closer to the OTHER player the turn before that led to the dropped catch (yes another 1) and then it being caught by the wrong player. Whilst I was lucky to catch the dropped ball with an adjacent player, it certainly was cruddy luck not to have caught the ball in the first place and it would have been a very different field position then.

Also your blitz on my Witch was without tackle. Even if you didn't roll a 1 and reroll that dodge (and have no RR for the blitz) it is not 25/36 failure to bring her down each two dice block so you didn't have mega bad luck there - just unlucky not to get a RR on the blitz instead and a knockdown was not that likely anyway.

I had the chance to win the game after your dropped 3+ catch in the rain. After that my blocks near the ball were two dicers only needing a pow once (and the second a push was enough). Then it is my AG5 Thrower who needs a 3+ with the dodge and then a 2+ to pick up the ball. A 1 on the GFI was costly as I then did not have the RR to try the catch. I could have chosen to allow the pass blocker to lay a tackle zone on the Thrower (would have been a 3+ long pass instead of a 2+ then) or not throw the ball (can't recall how safe the player was) so I took the 3+ chance for a catch needing a 2+ dodge with Blodge and then a GFI? to win but it was not to be.

Anyways, whilst the luck was not one sided, it was IMHO noticably worse for me than it was for you. We will have to agree to disagree here. I certainly would happily take the loss instead of a RIP Apoth failure too!

Once more, I wish your team a good recovery so we can have a rematch some time with a little less bad luck for both teams.
