“A farce of a match for most of the first half.

The Patriots were up 70-40 luckwise in the first half as they demolished the Amazons with pow after pow after pow whilst the Amazons got pushes.

The Patriots had a strong player advantage and tried to stall, but made a tactical error allowing the Amazons two 3+s (dodge and a push) to force a pushback TD.

This gave the Amazons 3 turns to equalise.

Some crappy luck put them under pressure early with a failed pick up with sure hands. The Amazons still had a chance to score, needing a 4+ with RR for the pass (75%) but it went way wide and the Patriots knocked down the only possible scorers for the Amazons.

Second half saw the Amazons show the Patriots a quick offence with a 2 turn TD despite the deep defence of the Patriots.

Then it was 10 Patriots vs 11 Amazons, with Kenty claiming underdog as he was outnumbered, but Malthor disagreed, saying he would be outnumbered shortly (4 mighty blow vs 1) and the Amazons coach was correct as it was 10 Patriots vs 9 Amazons soon after!

The Patriots continued with their luckfest, catching a missed pass and also catching a bouncing ball whilst the Amazons continually outplayed the Patriots using pushbacks over and over to get the caged ball carrier to where he could be hit.

On one occasion, the Patriots catcher survived a two dice block rerolled as well.

The Patriots continued to leave the ball in positions where the Amazons could attack it with some strategic play and evenutally, the Amazons were able to save the match by scooping up the loose ball and throwing a long bomb into the vacant backfield of the Patriots on turn 16.

A real fun but farce of a match.

First half and part of the second half was a total luckfest for Kenty as he kept taking out my players whilst mine did jack. From a commanding position (11 vs 8?) I was able to come back and force a score (with a push) to get a chance to level by half time.

However, the failed pick up (one in nine chance) put me under pressue and then the missed pass (one in four chance of failure) was unfotunate (but not super unlucky).

Second half I again outplayed my valiant opponent several times by getting to his ball carrier despite being outnumbered 9 to 5? or so in the end.

Despite this it was a fun game against a fun coach who has the right attitude - this is a game, don't take it too seriously or be too invested in winning/losing. Real class.

Ah well, one game closer to 50 played with humans. The death of a lineman with block sucks a bit, the niggling was a 3 SPP lino so no biggie, and -Ma on a Block DP is ok.

Anyways, onto 50 games we come! ”
