“Whoa. Lose a couple veterans and the whole team falls apart!
The Gypsies were humilated by the Old Team. With the two rookies, Moat and Demon on the frontline, the Gypsies were hoping to show the new kids the ropes... instead they got hung! The first half of the first half would lead to both rookies being seriously injuried along with the newest blitzer, Granite. As the half proceeded, Cougar and St. Stone would also be mercifully KO-ed; the later never returning to the game. The Necros would score at the end of the half.
The Gypsies, lead by the recovered Cougar, try to rally in the second half. The kick off would bounce to Gromble, the unimpressive ogre who, despite being on the front line caught the ball! He trudged down the field, but the Gypsies were roughed up again. The rookie Jonez would go down injured again (second game in a row), then the KO's began again, Gromble, Cougar, Frontman. The Old Team marched down the field with but four boys from Dark Water fighting for their lives. It would be an easy TD and and easier win.
The fans were angry and deservedly so. There was no reason for the Gypsies to get beat this badly. Still, they'll have enough players to field a full team next game, with the three newest players nursing their wounds. Remember pain is weakness leaving the body, greenies!
Leadfist got the MVP... an easy choice since he was the only one to do ANYTHING (a completion). In a Dark Water tradition of recent blitzers, he too has worked on evading opponents. He practiced it a lot this game...
Sigh. Well done Kre.”
