Cursed game where i failed almost every important roll.
My oppponent is very lucky on key rolls, then he has the nerve to tell me on the last turn of the game that i should have kicked to him or this is what happens.
The fact that he barely scored with 2 gfi's(no rr) and I would have stopped him if i could roll two dice in a row that are not 1's had escaped his memory.
Thanks, Mr. Know It All but the reason you won is because you were lucky on all your key rolls.
What a condescending jackass!
Oh well, good game and see ya next time Woodpecker
I disagree about the kick Woodpecker, i always kick if i have the bashier team then i try to reduce number of oppostion players. With wood elves i don't like to give first possesion away, the chance of losing several players on the 1st turn doesn't outweigh the benefit IMHO.
If i kick then the dorfs beat up my team and stall for 8 turns then score. I start the 2nd half down in players and losing 1-0. It will be harder to score and even if i score I then have six turns to steal and score again.
If i take the kick a have a better chance of scoring quickly and then i only have to defend for 5-6 turns. If i prevent the score, the dorfs are screwed even if i don't the score is tied and I have a full 8 turns to steal the ball and score.
Please explain the advantages of kicking to a slow, bashy team with Woodies.”
Okay, NOW we're talkin'...
After disappointing in their first game, against a team of hated Chaos Dwarves no less, the Boys from Barak Varr were raring for a chance to prove themselves. It came against a team of weak Wood Elves who were foolhardy enough to dare and enter K-League 160.
The elves, typically, scored very quickly, but perhaps did it a little too quickly. For the remainder of the second half I caged and bashed down the field, BHing or KOing a pile of elves and though it took a bit of luck on opposing dodge rolls, and a diving GFI for the score, we tied it up 1-1. We recieved in the second half, and never let go of the ball. The elves started the half with 6 players and finished with 2, who spent the final four turns cowering on the ground pretending to be unconcious, so as not to be murdered by the bloodthirsty (but clean-playing) dwarves. We hopped in for the score on Turn 8, kicked off, and took home 5 K-League points and an elf's collarbone.
Well played Mossbeard, Elves are always tough against Dwarves. I won't be condesending anymore, but remember what I said about the kick ;-).
Edit: okay, um, even if I had failed the GFI I still would have had time to score twice in the second half, seeing as I remember you giving up on turn 3. But whatever, complain if you must.
The advantage of kicking should be obvious. You have 11 players on the field when I recieve, including two leap wardancers. With any luck, you'll get a blitz on my ballcarier before he's in the cage, and even if you don't, you should have a few good leaping cagebreak opportunities. If you choose to recieve, I'll do exactly what I did, and aim to take out your dancers. Sorry if you think that's condesending, but it's true... :-P”
