“FIRST HALF

Winning the toss, Steelfist received the first kick and managed to blitz through to be in a touchdown scoring position ready for turn 4. The lads then got a little greedy, trying to hurt the Norse, and a failed block attempt gave Patrician an opportunity to take down the runner. The dwarves managed to inflict a couple of casualties on Nikoliev and Cuuv and got enough players upfield to hold the ball in play.

After a failed score attempt by Prainn, Patrician made a play late in the half, picking up the ball and attempting to throw it into no mans land to deny a score, how he was done in by the crowd, who didn't want to see the half scoreless and they threw the ball back into play. From there a serious injury to Gougeofsten, followed by a quick pick and score ensured a touchdown late in the 8th.

SECOND HALF

Northern Blight received, pushing hard against the dwarf defence. Vedgrasill and Hannarr tried to force the Norse into playing early, but a cool side-to-side play by the Norse left Molitov 'Bombski" open and ready to score. Assisted by Prainn, Hepti launched a blitz on Molitov and sent him crashing down, and then suddenly found himself in possession.

The Norse continued to push forward with their (now depleted) numbers and Nufflekoff Cursenen found himself 2 squares from a touchdown in turn 4. A failed GFI put the ball down again, and the dorfs slowly backpedaled to provide cover and support. In a game defining moment, Oldbugmanof Perfectoss failed yet another GFI roll, badly hurting himself and had to be stretchered off the field.

From here it was back to the training field, as a 6 an Norse team watched as Prainn ran the field, passed to Vedgrasill, who then moved up for support. A last ditch blitz by Boonyah Delecht resulted in a broken jaw for the would be Norse saviour, and a clear path to a 2-0 victory to Steelfist FC.

POST GAME

The Dwarves went into the match as underdogs, having only played 6 games to date, and having 11 of the bearded lads on the field.

However some serious blocking ensured that the Norse would be constantly undermanned on the field and some jammy luck ensured that no injuries prevailed on the lads of Steelfist.

Cheers to Pat, he definately had a hard time as every GFI seemed to be a '1', and then got himself injured or knocked out in the process. By the end of the match, 2 players were Seriously Injured, 3 Badly Hurt and another 5 recovering in the Knock Out bin - some seriously lucky rolling on my behalf.
