“Middenheim Challenge 09-06
-----------------------------------------
The Gothenburg Gitz were pitted against the Braunschweig Lions, a match that looked like it would include a lot of drama right from the start. It quickly developed to a continous fight uphill though, since BSKiwi saved all his luck for the crucial rolls, even if he also made some really unlucky ones. (Like the apo failing on Matt Riazzi)
What won the match for the Braunschweig Lions was the blitzers. Through some devious tactics they managed to blitz the ball carrier 4 times during the match so that the ball scattered into their grip. It was how they scored the winning TD, and also how they avoided the Gitz from tieing the match up.
I also did some pretty sloppy coaching in the end. By focusing on weakening the opposition for the over time I lost focus on equalizing, and gave up what looked like a given TD to push an high elf ball carrier off the pitch. The ball was thrown into the field at the feets of one of BSKiwi's blitzers, who picked it up, ran a bit and then threw it towards my end zone. Too few turns remained to run back and pick the ball up, so hope was lost.
Thanks for the match BSKiwi, and good luck in the tournament!”
