#6 Parin Rockbow – Dead (RIP)
#10 Talin Coalleg – Dead (RIP)
"Okay boys, they may be fast, but you are stronger! So hit them hard and they won't be running anytime soon!" Coach Oblitzamanger was getting his team pumped up for the game. "Get out there and give them hell!" The team roared back. However, Runner Parin Rockbow didn't seem too excited. He seemed rather nervous to play the evil rats.

The team lined up and kicked off. Skaven Thrower Reginald passed to Gutter Runner Rodney who was lightly protected. A stunning hit from captain Blitzer Ibun Redplate opened up the gap for Trollslayer Thorin Loremallet to blitz through. In a frenzied roar, Thorin pushed the Gutter Runner out of bounds rather than knocking him down and the ball went into the crowd. The crowd was on the Skaven's side all night as they threw it right to Linerat Rupert. But, he was smashed prone by Longbeard Dori Craftyhammer, the star of the match for the Guild, and the ball was caught by Runner Kain Tombhands.

Kain was able to advance downfield due to the well planned blitzes and blocks by the Guild. However, Thrower Reginald blitzed in and even facing two Dwarves, he managed to knock the ball free. So, seeing his chance, Dori Craftyhammer tripped up the thrower and the ball bounced to him. Catching it, he ran downfield and was virtually free of opposition.

He stalled for the rest of the half as the Rodent Revengers attempted to gain revenge for their failed drive. And they suceeded. Longbeard Talin Coalleg was unable to injure Gutter Runner Rodger, and when a Rat Ogre fan taunted him for failing, he flicked the enraged fan off (which is important for later). Linerat Ronald then smashed Parin Rockbow so hard, that his whole body was shattered. How the linerat did it is still a mystery, but rumors have it that Parin had unknowingly drank a potion that had made his body weaker and didn't listen to his body when Coach put him in. More rumors have it that the Revengers had something to do with it...

Despite the apothecary's best efforts, Parin had deceased. The team was shocked at the first death ever suffered that was permenent and a sorry Dori Craftyhammer crossed the touchline as the ref blew the whistle.

Everyone in the dugout was shocked at halftime, and even Coach Oblitzamanger was at a loss for words. Only captain Ibun Redplate could say anything with any meaning to it. "Come on guys. We can't loss or draw this game, not with the sacrifice that Parin payed. We must win. So for him, stick to the gameplan and smash them up good!"

But it was of no use. As the second half was starting, the angry Rat Ogre fan hurled the largest rock he could find at halftime at Talin Coalleg and the rock crushed the poor Longbeard flat, killing him. The team was so depressed that they had lost two of their best players so quickly, that they quickly used up their team re-rolls. However, when Linerat Rudolph tried to block rookie Longbeard Porin Songbrow, the young (for a Longbeard) Dwarf knocked him out. The team instantly snapped out of their funk and focused on the job at hand. Kain Tombhands picked up the ball and ran downfield protected by a cage of blitzers. Lar Rockmail knocked out another Linerat that tried to block him, and the game opened up.

Trollslayer Rorin Songhelm got up and blitzed Rat Ogre Ricky and killed the beast, only for the Skaven's apothecary to succeed in saving the Rat Ogre. A failed dodge from Gutter Runner Rodney allowed the cage to move within scoring distance, as Rorin, frustrated that his kill didn't stick, blitzed Linerat Ronald in revenge for killing Parin. The combination of revenge, being in a frenzied state, and being frustrated, helped Rorin kill the rat by smashing his head off. This made the entire team roar in satisfaction as they took complete control of the game. Kain stood next to the endzone for a while, to preserve the team's record of not being scored on, and he finally walked it in on their last turn. The ref blew the final whistle and the game ended 2 - 0 Runesmith's Guild.

After the game, although the team mourned the loss of their friends, the atmospheere surrounding them was ebullient. Coach Oblitzamanger had finally paid off his debt to the Guild, and they went 5 - 0 in the process, without conceding a touchdown. They had inflicted 17 casualties, including 9 deaths, only three of which were saved by an apothecary, and had scored 7 touchdowns. They were on a roll, and despite taking the heavy losses, everyone agreed to keep on playing for the glory.

Coach Oblitzamanger had several things on his mind at that point. With one of his debts gone, he was excited. However, since the team was going to continue playing, he had to recruit a new Runner from the Guild, and eventually found Bundin Redmallet. He also became concerned about his appearance as a coach. With 9 deaths inflicted, his team always played the often said boring style of bash and cage Dwarf tactics. Despite it's working very well, he feared for his reputation as a fun-loving coach, and would have to be cautious that his competetiveness wouldn't overcome him. For instance, he could have not stalled in the second half since the game was in the bag, and let the Skaven have a chance at scoring a touchdown and earning SPPs. But he was too stingy to even allow that.

However, proving that he was truly a Dwarf coach, Oblitzamanger got the Dwarf team for the tabletop, and could only hone his skills here on fumbbl, with his stunning team, the Runesmith's Guild, who were behind him 100%.
