“A recovery match for the Guardians (but they didn't tell the Angels) as they were down one Wardancer.
----------
A most unenjoyable game that was extremely tight due to some very good luck for my opponent.
First half I was up 1-0 and knocked the ball loose and he claimed the game was frozen on his end (but others could and can still log into the match still and see I had knocked him over). So I agreed to reload the turn.
On the reload, I failed to knock the ballcarrier over with my two dice block (he had Blodge, but I was stronger and had Tackle). Next turn, he survives another two 2 dice blocks with Tackle and he ends up scoring to tie the scores.
Meanwhile, I continue to roll 1s for GFI, with only some lucky blocking on my part that kept me in the game. At the end of the first half it is 2-2 with his luck at about 70% AFTER we reloaded from turn 3 when he was already on 67%.
Second half it starts to rain, and I set up a 2 dice blitz on his ball carrier and I knock it free, then fail a 2+ leap to cover the ball and he scores. If I had made that 2+ roll he was in trouble as I had another 4 players to swoop in, including an AG 5 Blodger who could pick up the ball.
With only 9 in offence, I play conservative as I fail to do much with my blocks whilst he gets a lot of pushes and skull/pows on the non important guys, but pows on the potential scorers.
Eventually, I play nasty and force one of his players OOB and slow the game right down. In the end it came to a couple of 2+ dodges, a 2+ catch and a 2+ GFI to tie the game.
---------------
Another game I totally hated. First half whilst I had certainly had some lucky blocks here and there, the half really belonged to my opponent as I could not convert a number of opportunities to steal the ball and set up a score. The apparent freezing of the game on his end didn't help my cause either as the reload screwed me over when I didn't win the ball.
Then to fail to knock the ball loose again on the next turn was a crucial point. Second half I again had an opportunity to steal the ball and the crucial 1 on the leap saved my opponent's butt.
Not at all my opponent's fault who played well and was a good sport, but luck was definately on his side as there were 3-4 opportunities for me to steal the ball on a 2 dice hit on his ball carrier with Pow or Dodge/Pow being enough whilst I did not offer a single chance in the game to hit my ball carrier with anything other than a 1 dice block or a 2 dice block my choice with my ball carrier having Blodge, and his hitter not having Tackle or Strip Ball.
To top off my bad run, I got a niggle on a Lino (he already has -1 AV so he is probably going to be a coach now) and my star Wardancer got a niggle from his advance roll.
I really hate you sometimes Nuffle.
Just saw that the Lino that got niggled got the MVP too.
Correction, Nuffle, you are a f#cken w@anker and I hate you all the time! ”
