I knew this would be an extremely challenging game and did my best to do some early damage to the Norse. Moved the skink cage to and fro while attempting to let the Saurus do some damage. They managed a KO and a BH. A failed dodge did leave my cage exposed breifly, but I was able to quickly recover and score on turn 7.
Gary_Gygax made a RR-less attempt at a 2-turn score. My stripballer made it tough, and after a 5+ pick-up his blitzing attempt to score came up a square short.
Thankfully his lone blitzer stayed comfy in the KO bin, but that was one of the few bright spots of the second half. The Norse took out 4 Saurus in 3 turns (3 with DP) and before I knew it I was looking at a horrible man advantage against. The skinks never gave up though and the tail of the Krox kept working toward the ball. A ball pop shown a breif glimmer of hope but I had no where near enough players to protect the ball.
Gary_Gygax blitzed the ball back and made a run to the end zone with only a handful of lizards left attempting to defend.
OT was looking bleak for the Lizards. Nine Norse on 7 lizards...
A first turn KO made it 9 on 6, but I played all out high pressure D with the few skinks I had left. The plan was to put bodies on the ball and take the beatings for it and hope would Nuffle smile upon me. Somehow the ploy paid off. A double skull turnover exposed the ball and Big Mamma, making her PurpleSaurus Rex debut blitzed the ball free. Sure Handed, sure footed Slab Bulkhead was there to scoop up the ball and scamper out of Norse range for the miraculous win!
“Accurate report :)
After a very balanced first half, I took advantage on the 2nd especially using dirty players and fouls (and finally I got an opponent that didn't whine on a tournament match about fouling, I rarely foul on one-off ranked match) but nuffle turned when I rolled a key double skulls and that was the key of the match.
Congrats again to bampf that never gave up and I'm looking forward for a rematch :)”
