“Well, this game was so good that the fans even loved the losers! Which were once again the Gypsies.
The Gypsies gambled early in this game against the Lizards as Brimstone caught a pass from Cougar and blitzed deep into enemy territory. The Dark Waterites thought they had sown up any potential counter attacks, but a bunch of skinks ganged up on Brimstone and he went down. The Lizards would fight back , driving down the field until they would complete a pass to a Saurus(!) and score a touchdown!
The Lizards would get the ball at the beginning of the second and they were able to weave their way in for another TD. Brimstone, steaming after his missed TD, took out two skinks himself. Gromble surprised even himself by actually doing something... killing one of the Sauruses! The opposing doctor brought him back though.
Cougar would connect with Leadfist who would put the Gypsies on the board. But it was to no avail. The Lizards would manuver their remaining skink to score a third TD. On the final drive, Cougar was stunned by a rock from the Dinosaur Attack crowd. Leadfist got his hands on the ball, ran up the sideline and threw it to Luther Jonez, who would score his second career TD.
It wasn't enough to win, but the fans loved every minute. Granite, the newest blitzer would take home MVP. With the money saved, Ryce has decided to fill the final roster position with another name of Dark Water fame. Nick Nightsong, the son of the legendary Mathias Nightsong, has been hired... but not as a catcher like his dad! He is coming on as the team's back-up quarterback. With both Nightsong and Cougar in the back field, Coach Ryce is hoping to open up the Gypsies air attack a little more!
16 healthy players... a strong fan factor... plenty of second chances... the Gypsies are serious about their committment to be one of the best human teams in the game! Now if they could only start winning more games...
Good match, Mossbeard. I'll take a loss like this anytime. The Gypsies want a rematch!”
