“The 1st half was controlled playing and with the dice on my side I could make one running TD. There were no problems stopping the opponent's charge on the remaining few turns of the 1st half. The luck was something like 80-20, so maybe I should have pushed harder while it lasted.
The 2nd half was full of suffering. Due to change of luck and lack of concentration I let the elves slip through the defence line. Soon there was a wall of elven flesh on my side of the field and the defence was standing somewhere else. I had no opportunity to make a blitz to get the ball, because the one carrying the ball was completely covered. The charge ended with a throwing TD, classical elf style. Interception failed.
After receiving the kick-off, my beastman failed the pass and threw the ball in the open field for the elves to pick it up. This attempt to score the winning TD opened up the elves' game, not mine. Indeed, the opponent got the ball, and after I continued making mistakes with the defence, they didn't miss the opportunity to run another TD.
I wasn't satisfied to find out that I was unable to control the defence with stronger team and more players on field. The active dodging of the elves kept them out of my reach. With one blitz per turn I had no real chance to take out more than one single player per turn. This just wasn't enough.
Chaos players will probably eat the coach raw and alive for this fiasco. ”
“This match had all the same symptoms as every recent game I've played. One side has the dices on their side in the 1st half and when the 2nd half starts everything turns upside down.
So, you can relax for the 1st half (if you're the unlucky one), forget about the dodging (even with AG5, as I bitterly witnessed) and blocking and just lay back. Then, when the 2nd half starts, you'll have all the luck in the world to make a hefty bunch of TD's. As if.
I was amazed how a player with AG5 manages to fail a dodge... No, it wasn't just one dodge, he tripped on his feet like on regular basis.
The illuminating part of the game was when my thrower succeeded in throwing the ball to one of my blitzers who was in the end-zone. Slize tried to intercept, but failed. That was the 1-1 TD.
I got my second TD due to a failed dodge on Slize's side. Centerfield opened up and I rushed in with my blitzer. Moments later, after some serious dodging the rest of the centerfield-gang joined him to keep the Slize's men away as my thrower went for the ball. With a helping hand from my thrower that AG5 blitzer did what he was paid for; making TD's. 2-1.
Quite few casualties, even the odds we're something else.”
