OOC: Nice guy of course, friendly but wouldn't kill my lamed Blitzer!
------------------------------------

Pre Match:

Well going into DWO's third consecutive match, the team is looking only slightly stronger than when it was put together! What with Donny Diamond turning into a slightly useless version of his former gargantuan self after successfuling maiming himself whilst blocking a pansy Elf on his debut for the DWO. Sean Quinn has been signed up and they have hired an apothecary to guard against any future such freak injuries but the team as a whole looks as green as ever.

And unfortunately they have pulled a very difficult match in the form of a bunch of dead things! They Necromantic teams give me the willies with all those different types of players! Especially those Werewolves! Such stars with their pace and their take down power, DWO will have to watch out for their blitzes and hope that the apothecary can stop any damage he may do!

So the DWO lined up against "Happy, Happy, Joy, Die", off the back of a heavy defeat and looking to prove themselves once more, porve that they were not just simple wrestlers but instead multi talented killers!

-------------------------

Match Report:

The game began with the DWO winning the toss and opting to receive the ball, they lined up, trying to neutralise the defensive plays of the Necromantics. The drive began with yet another pitch invasion, leaving a large proportion of the DWO on the ground, and the ball bounced neatly toward the back of their endzone. Lithium, as one left standing, made a concerted effort to come inside and protect any counter attack on DWO's weakened position. The remaining DWO left standing started throwing their weight around and managed to knock over three zombies before the Necro's had a chance to react.

Even when they did, it wasn't good as their Werewolf tried to dodge through, intending on taking out Lithium where she stood but fell over in the process, leaving himself in the KO box for the time being. While that happened, the rest of the DWO picked themselves up and set about clearing up the mess which the invasion begun. The furthest forward blitzers charged back and tied down as many free opponents as possible while the line of scrimmage was again busy with blocks flying all over.

Finally once it looked safe enough to come out of his daze, the Real Deal picked himself up, dusted himself down and went after the ball. Snatching it quickly he hurled it downfield to the protected catcher, Lithium. Unfortunately, the throw was fumbled and on came the Necro's again. It was not long until Lithium herself grabbed the free ball and plunged through a gap in the Necro's line and made her way successfully to the endzone, after staving off a dangerous block from a slavering ghoul and striding home for her second touchdown in three games as a Blood Bowl player!

Panic ensued as the Necro's nearly pulled off a feat of Elfish proportions in the dying seconds of the first half but thankfully they fell at the last hurdle after dodging here and there. 1-0 at half time but could the DWO hold out...

Again the Werewolf sat in the KO box so The DWO were happy to be free of the threat that he brought to the game and set up a conservative 10 man defence, with both Sean Quinn and Corbin sitting in the home side's KO box.

The second half gave the DWO the ultimate upperhand as they started a split second before their opponents and managed a blitz on their unwary opponents. 4 players moved down the nearside in an attempt to crowd the ball but unfortunately found themselves caught out as the Necros switched the direction of their play and pulled away from the early charge. Luckily the ghoul carrying the ball ran into Kuff and found his face in the turf, the ball scattering behind the DWO line.

Players rushed to defend the ball but none risked actually picking it up and hoped that their sheer presence would stop any push to gather it. That hope was crushed as the nimble ghoul who had dropped it seconds before, strode in and whisked it away, making it safe and probing into the DWO half. Several plays later left the ghouls within scoring range and even a successful blitz from Donny Diamond of all people had no effect on the outcome and the Necro's scored late to tie it all up.

--------------------------

Post Match Analysis:

A game almost won but not quite as the DWO were just not strong enough at the death to hold out and failed to prevent the duo of ghouls pushing through and touching down. DWO top scorer, Lithium was the first out of the dressing room and had this to say the reporters:

Lithium: "I'm pleased with my performance and my touchdown but I didn't even get to hit one of those undead things, and thats what I joined up for... I have to find who killed my father and put them to rest! I want to bring them to their knees and shock them with my flame ridden body...."

At this, she brought up a finger and a tiny flame ignited on the tip, she held it there for a second then snuffed it out with her thumb, turned and left the stadium, headed for the team hotel. She looks more deadly already...

Of course, the glitzy glamourous Real Deal stole the headlines again by recording an MVP award and was lauding up the attention at the gates, signing autographs and making stupid jokes about how good he was but Draven, the Emperor's assasin, would be our pick for MVP, his quiet intervention and strong blocking lead the line for the DWO and even though he normally puts in a very selfish performance, he helped the team out a lot today and showed a lot of promise.

Am absolutely shameful day for this team. Star wolf KO on a turn 1 dodge and refuses to get back in the game - this tie game felt worse than a loss.
