Coach Creekmoor reached the lowest point in his totally unremarkable Blood Bowl career on Monday night when he suffered defeat at the hands of Coach Meady and his Warfield Warriors. Having gone 1 - 0 up and looking like it was going to be a walk in the park, the Warriors contrived to sneak a touchdown just as the ref was putting the whistle to his mouth to blow for half time.

The Demons never quite recovered from that, and when Frank Warfield scored again, there was no coming back for the boys...er......demons, from the Blackhills. A last desparate throw of the dice (and the ball) led to a comfortable interception by the Wrriors and it was game over.

So, a first win for Meady and another defeat for Creekmoor. These are hard times for the south coast campaigner, especially as this match was followed with yet another 2 - 1 defeat against Coach Hepworthnot.

Still, a word of warning for the young Warriors boss. Don't suddenly expect the wins to start rolling in - they won't! You have won here, and well played for that, but you have only just begun to climb the Blood Bowl ladder, and there are lots of snakes out there, waiting to send you back to where you started!!!

It was one of those mild September nights, one of the last pleasant summer evenings, a hint of autumn in the air when the starting whistle blew. 14,000 had turned out to see a match that would prove to be a historic landmark for the Warfield Warriors. It seems that the dressing down the team got from Head Coach Mead at their last defeat eventually paid dividends, but it looked like it was going to be the same old story when Blackhill Demons took first blood. With the clock ticking down to half time and the fans resigned to another uneventful evening, up stepped Frank Warfield. It was fitting that the founder member of the Warfield Warriors was the one to take the game by the collar. A fine running, blitz led him to be able to complete first touchdown on the halftime whistle. Second half and the fans were coming alive, again Big Frank roamed the end of the pitch waiting for his moment- he didn't have to wait long. A comedy of errors by the Demons left the ball loose and Frank once again run home the touchdown. The final minutes was edge of the seat stuff but a final long throw by the Demons which would of seen them clear through was intercepted, the whistle blow full time, the stadium erupted. We'll they'll be partying well into the night in the Warfield Tavern's tonight but coach Mead's post match interview showed the new professionalism emerging at this club, 'it's job done, 3 points in the bag and our first win, we won't let go to our heads though' he said- happy days are here again.
