“The iron grating to the dark and gloomy coliseum was slowly pushed open, and in contrast to the dead silent zombie committed to this task, the grating protested loudly with an ear-piercing screetching noise. Through the dark shadows emerged a shambling horde of undeads, a parody to their live counter-parts. Only a blank expression of nothingness was inscribed upon their decomposing visages. Slowly, they advanced out onto the field, their movements as one, like if being guided by a stronger will. The Resurrected Foulers was ready for a rumble!
From the opposite side of the field, a second iron grating was opened, albeit this time not slowly pushed open, but rather brutally thrown as the team of savage orcs crashed through it, all eager to taste the flesh of the unliving. Standing twice the height of even the largest black orc loomed the dread shape of a vicious troll, mucus and spittle running down the torn lips, and allowing a quick glance upon the array of sharp fangs protruding through the great maw. Facing the undead appeared not to bother the Orc Chopz!
The coin was tossed highly into the air, violently spinning around its own shoulders countless of times before finally taking a turn in mid-air and descending towards the muddy ground. The referee signaled that the Resurrected Foulers won the toss, and it was decided that they should receive the ball.
The ball was kicked and soared high up into the aminous air. A thick carpet of dull grey clouds had started to form, concealing the silvery moon that was the main provided of light. Somehow the unliving sensed the kick, and used this to their advantage and started moving before the ball had touched down. Ivan Krautzmann, the ghoul, was closest to the ball, and attempted a a pick-up, but alas, it was a fumble. This threw the already advancing undeads off their toes, and allowed for the orcs to gain the upper hand instead.
The orcs crashed into the undead blockers in the middle, attempting to knock them over, and with the aid of the troll, several felt the green fury. But after a failed block, some time into the first half, the momentum again swinged over to the Resurrected Foulers, who now had started a drive along the bottom right side. With powerful wights guarding the ball-carrying ghoul, they advanced relentlessly, with the two mighty mummies throwing blocks to keep the orcs at distance. The orcs attemtped to rally their players and set up a defense, but only two of them managed to rush past the undead blockers and place themselves between the ball and the goal line. But this appeared not to bother the undeads, and after a successful block in the last few seconds of the first half, Ivan Krautzmann managed a touchdown unhindered.
In the second half, an excellent coaching anticipated the orcish offensive tactics, and through this perfect defense, the orcs were under heavy preassure from the start. The undeads attempted to crash the orcs left flank while the pair of mummies holding up the center. Somehow the orcs, for the first time, felt that they were in a dire situation, and surely the threaths they received prior to the game from their head coach must have flashed through their thick skulls. This was duly noted on the field, and the orcs, just as the undeads in the first half did, fumbled the ball on the pick-up, allowing for the blitzing wights to take advantage of this, and one managed to reach as far up as to the orc who had attempted to carry the ball, with another wight not far behind, together with two ghouls. On the opposite side of the field, another pair of wights advanced to cut off any passing routs. In the middle, however, the troll managed to knock out a mummy, but the centre held as a few zombies rushed in to aid the lone mummy. Now, the orc who had attempted to pick up the ball, made a second go, but fumbled again, probably because he was looking over his shoulder too much, as not to be tackled from behind. The unliving immediatly jumped onto this opporunity, and Tomas Pugatjovski, a wight, sprinted for the ball, and managed a touchdown in the very beginning of the second half.
Through the rest of the second half, the orcs attempted to make amendmends for their previously errors, but their ill-luck seemed to carry on. They slipped on the muddy ground, and failed blocks, and their troll refused to move at first, but once it did, it, too, slipped and tumbled over. Meanwhile, the undead continued to preasure the orcs, and finally, at the end of the match, they once more had the ball in their possession, although it had bounced back and forth between the two different teams a few times. At the very end of the half, a ghoul attempted a throw for a third touchdown, but failed to throw longer than two feet ahead of himself, if even that. The game ended in a victory, 2-0, for the Resurrected Foulers.
This is what the head coach had to say about the game:
"Unlike a team like, say orcs, one can always count on the unliving to put up a solid performance again and again. While the orcs fumbled the ball and tripped over their own large feet, the unliving advanced with relentlessness. The game was decided early in the second half when we anticipated the orc's set-up, and managed to crash both their flanks,
which, rightfully, resulted in our second touchdown. After this, the orcs had to struggle to get back into the game, and had to take chances. It didn't pay off, obviously, as it never does against the unliving."”
