Despite winning, this was a lackluster first game for the Orators. Granted, this was the first time I was coaching this team, but there are some things that are inexcusable, such as having my thrower on the offensive line when the play starts, or forgetting on the FIRST PLAY that I had chose to recieve.

Despite these flaws, the Orators proved that they can hang tough and scrambled throughout the entire game. Having coached against the Goblins before, I had finally established a D that was effective against Goblin Throws. However, dealing with the issue of side-stepping goblins still eludes me.

Our offense was lacking, however, and only managed 1 TD through some lucky handoffs. Again, had I had my head in the game I feel I could have had at least two more TDs against the Snatchers with the luck I was getting. Ah well, lessons for the future.

Even though the Orators are not the strongest, we still managed our share of casualties against the Snatchers, most notably the death of Iron Chef French. As he had 0 SP though, xrobot won enough in this game to buy his replacement, so I'm not sure where the sorrow comes from.

After playing with this team, I can appreciate having some FF re-rolls on hand (luxuries I do not have with the Shufflers).

A good match with the Snatcher, looking forward to more.

#7 Dr. John Dee – Smashed Knee (NI)
#13 Iron Chef French – Dead (RIP)
This was definitely a great game! Having played against Mr. Bifevo several times now, he's started to pick up on my tactics. Alas, I chose not to use the 1-turn Thrown Goblin Offense® because he was obviously expecting it. The simple fact of this game was that I just couldn't get anything started and I developed my plays too early, making it too obvious what my game plan was.

Thankfully, this game did not have the high casualty rates that I've grown somewhat accustomed to by playing the Shufflers. Unfortunately though, I kept forgetting that he has those TWO freakin dudes with 9 MA, capable of running half the length of the pitch in a single turn.

Of all the games I've played, in this one my two Big Guys were definitely their dumbest. I can only remember 3 turns in which either of them could remember what was going on and throw some blocks.

I was hoping to make Bifevo pay for the death of Iron Chef French. The only thing I accomplished was a single stun. Due to some wily defensive setups by the Orators I was unable to get a whole lot of blocking in while I was on offense.

The thing about a team with high death rates such as goblins is that once you use your Apothecary, you tend to want to have your best players sit out for fear of getting them killed. If I had been a bit more aggressive I think I could have done better.

There will be a rematch.
