Well, the game started with the Delfs recieving vs the might of Emph's CDs.
T1: Delfs set up nicely down the left flank, aiming for a 2 turn TD. CDs begin their offensive - first block, BH, Delfs down to 11 (bye bye sub). Then a stroke of luck for the Delfs, as one of the Bulls snake eyes on a GFI leaving a bif gap.
T2: Aha, just a hand off needed. But no, snake eyes for the Delfs this time, leaving them in a world of trouble surrounded by CDs near the sideline. Fortunately, the CDs push and shove, but fail to secure the ball.
T3: Delfs get the ball back and score, 1-0. CDs receive and move en masse upfield.
T4: CDs begin their CAS rampage - 2 more CAS this turn (including a failed apoc roll for the Delfs), another in T5, and a 5th in T6. Running out of elves.
T7 and T8: Amazingly, the Delfs, helped by some crappy rolling by the CDs, hold out to half time, still 1-0 up. However yet another CAS (Foul!) in T7 leaves them with only 5 elves to start the second half vs the CD horde.
1-0 half time.
T9 - T15: a slow grind upfield by the CDs, removing elves, but not doing any more CAS (yet!). Score in T15, leaving the elves only 1 turn to get an unlikely winner. 1-1.
T16: clock back on the kickoff! Ooooo, murmer the crowd.....
Delfs go right (all 5 of them), getting 2 runners in range. However, the "brutally efficient" CDs surround them and taunt them......
1-1 at full time, and 6 elves (one more back from KO) face the oh so thrilling prospect of 8 more turns of pain.
The coin flips, and - yay! - the elves get to kick off. Woot!
Extra time
T19: CAS.
T20: CAS. Four elves remain.
T24, CD scores. 2-1 final score.
3 Delfs retired due to niggles, but they'll be back for another season.
Cheers Emphasy, and good luck in the semis.
