I should get +1 Karma for not crowdpushing in turn 16 ;)

This was a very close tough game.
My thrower got mashed up before the game due to a handicap result and i knew id miss the STR4 throwing powers of Driscoll.

The lightening league received the ball and i made a tactical error right off the bat. They got themselves i into a blocking bashing war instead of playing elfbowl (ive been playing my orcs too much!) against a team of amazons who were far better equipped to deal with a blocking war.

6 very sticky turns later with my only tackler already badly hurt i suddenly remembered im an elf not an orc and sprung a runner away towards the endzone. Next turn some dodging ducking and diving later my runner was handed the ball and half the team were between him and the amazons, turn 8 score phew.

The second half was equally tight, the lightening league kicked deep hoping to stall and pickoff the amazons as the half went on.

Things didnt start well and the amazons managed to get a good centre field position with the ball in a typical cage and a runner down one flank by about turn 2/3.
Then came the longest sequence of blocks without a knockdown ive seen ;)
Basically after some thinking i managed to break the cage in such a way that i could keep pushing the ball carrier onto more of my elves as i knew without tackle this blodger might not go down. I ended up moving the ball carrier from the centre of the pitch near to one of the flanks before rolling a pow result on about the 6th? block. The elves retreived the ball, but with no options forward looked to retreat and screen the ball carrier.

A couple of turns later the amazons had sacked my call carrier though and there was a scrum around the ball on the floor.
A few blocks from my guys made room for my AG6 guy to get a 2+ pickup in tacklezones, dodge away on a 0+ ;) and throw the ball deep upfield into space.

In the end this proved the game winner as despite the amazons making dodge rolls to get a runner in the endzone, and a dodge roll for their safety player to get to the ball, the pickup was fumbled before he got a chance to throw a longbomb.

a close close victory for the Lightening League and a gg.
