First match for the 'Quake team against a different line-up of Chaos Dwarves. Coach Barghezt figured that a good way to shake off the rust from a long inactivity was coming to grips with a same-race opponent, that way giving more weight to tactics than to the racial strengths and weaknesses.

The match turned out hard-fought and more difficult than expected. The 'Quake got hold of a big advantage in the first half, when hobgoblin player "Boots" Jobbo (assisted by a couple team mates) managed to push the enemy's only bullcentaur out of the pitch right into a bunch of angry Troll fans that badly hurted him.

That slowed down the opponents quite a bit. On hindsight, that lucky event was the one that prevented the 'Quake from losing the match, since the individual performance of the players was less than average with some notable exceptions.

'Quake bullcentaur Zarak "Thunderhoof" managed to trip on his own hooves during a rush and knocked himself out for the rest of the game. The other bull managed to score once in the 2nd half after having great difficulty in picking up the ball from the ground. The other players generally did a lot of ineffective bashing around with the hobgoblins excelling at being useless.

The match was arguably decided by the valiant efforts of 'Quake chaos dwarf blockers "Kneebreaker" Wragg and "Ironfang" Zorga that managed to badly hurt an enemy chaos dwarf and a couple hobgoblin.

The numerical preponderance allowed the 'Quake to hold its own and prevent the opponent from scoring even when the enemy's fans got the ref and "Ironfang" Zorga was subsequently KO'ed by a foul.

So here it is, first victory for the 'Quake. Coach Barghezt sends his regards to Coach Marsell4k for a good game. His comments at the end of the match were: "Those boys gotta work very hard if they wanna be a real good team. We can't rely on fans to do our job, putting key enemy players out of the picture. We have to do that ourselves."

Nevertheless, the trolls that hurted the opponent's bullcentaur were given a free yearly subscription for spectating 'Quake matches. That is, if you can have an asset why waste it?

*Coach Barghezt coughs - cough cough*
