“After 4 games the woodies were stuck near the foot of the ladder and all thought of promotion was gone. It was now a matter of survival. In a must win game against the Westfield Maulers (who were also having a tough season) the WDDs spread their legs and showed their class.

The tone was set early when Huthcy out the out into Bondi who could have died if not for some smart thinking by the Maulers medical staff. After trading early TDs the Decisive moment came just before the halftime interval. The Woodies were pushed up against the sideline and running out of options when a critical error by the Maulers not only allowed the Men of Wood to get out of Jail Free but also meant that Bondi got surfed right out of the game.
This left Westfield boys to short on numbers and the WDDs romped away with the win which should see them safe in Conferences for another season.

3pts: Innaloo - If more of his teamamtes showed the same intensity the Maulers could have stayed in this game. Was brutally effective with his blocking game.

2pts: Bondi - Showed some real class scoring the only TD for the lossing side. His absence in the 2nd half made a big difference

1pt: Southland - Probably lucky to get a point. Southland should have been a wrecking ball of destruction. While he got through a lot of work he did not do as much damage as was expected.
